Hello,

I figured after the 1200 miles I put on the car, it's about time to give an update, this will be a lengthy topic just FYI.

Order and Dealer Experience:

I ordered this Mach E on 1/1/2022 and took delivery on 5/13/2022.
My experience with my dealer was great! MSRP on orders, I did X-Plan as well, the delivery went well, few hookups with finance two days after delivery but nothing horrible, just some bitter taste in my mouth, but I think the overall experience was great.

First Impression:
Took the car for a ride, and I was surprised with the unbridled mode, the last time I drove a GT, it was 2021 base and was in engage or maybe even whisper mode, it's fast, and I just love how this car pulls away!

Charging:
Charged on 120V until 5/21, was slow and painful, did few Electrify America charging to boast charge, on 5/21 I installed my Nema 14-50 outlet and switched to 240V, things got way better, 240V is about 6 times faster than 120V, in my opinion, that's enough, no need to waste money buying faster chargers unless you drive 200 miles per day.

Below is all my charging information during those past days

Ford Mustang Mach-E 1200 miles - My impression, Likes & Dislikes! Mach-E GT [Detailed Writeup] ME.JPG

According to total miles added I had 1436 miles worth, current ODO is 1290 and I currently have 205 miles left so sounds about right.
Based on my calculations it looks like I am getting 220-300 miles per charge depending on my calc, dividing miles added by percentage then multiplying by 100, I could be doing this wrong though.
The max I saw was like 225 miles at 91% so that's more like 248 miles max.

Ford Mustang Mach-E 1200 miles - My impression, Likes & Dislikes! Mach-E GT [Detailed Writeup] ME1.JPG

In my experience with Electrify America, I think I saw as high as 127kWh charge speed, but generally speaking, it's good, I was worried that the 150 max input is not sufficient, now I think I can live with it, would be nice if Ford can take little bit more like Teslas!

Now enough with charging, let's move on .....

Carwash Experience:
My first visit to the carwash was last week, I went automatic carwash with a brush, the brushes opened the charging port and I almost shit my pants as I thought the brush was going to break it! I may tape it next time, will see, I am still trying to resolve this carwash setup, water in San Diego is hard and will leave tons of spots! I used to wash the Miata home, but that's a smaller car and I was able to dry it before the sun did the job!

This was not a belt so I put the car in park, but if this was a moving belt, you want to learn how to put the car on neutral, that can be done by
"Switch the gear knob to N then press L", switch back to D, and press on the gas pedal to drive.

Things I love about the car:

* great looks! get attention everywhere, especially in the cyber orange!
* faaaast! ( still itching for Model 3 Performance ) but this thing is fast, pulls quickly!
* B&O sound system is great.
*Signature LED lights are bright and amazing! I love the auto high beam as well.
* I like blue cruise, especially hands-free mode, I don't trust it but I like it!
* two physical keys, I might be young, but still old-fashioned, and love regular keys over using the phone.
* Seats were not comfy the first day, but once I adjusted everything, they are very comfortable.
* AC blows cold, I didn't expect it to perform like this in an EV.
* the ability to set a start charging time and end charging time, unlike Tesla, you can only set start or end! this is one of the best features in my opinion.
* the panoramic roof does a great job keeping the sun out! I think it works like magic!!!!!

My complains ( areas for improvement ):

* the ride is annoying in bumps! I did read people's comments here but I know now what they meant, the suspension in the back sucks! when I go through bumps the backside feels like there are literally no shock absorbers, like the whole back of the car is one single piece! my last cars were a 2021 Bronco, 3 NC Miatas, C6 Corvette, and a Charger, had those in the last 4 years, and the Mach E has the harshest suspension among all, even harsher than my 2010 NC with sway bars! now, this is not killing me, but I appreciate a softer ride.
* Wireless android auto, this thing works randomly! a lot of improvement is needed here.
* Door button, this thing doesn't work 2 times out of 5, I still don't get it too, the car locks when I walk away and unlocks when I approach it but it doesn't happen always when I press the door button it doesn't open sometimes, I have to press it like 2-4 times to open or I may have to unlock the car via the key then open the door, anyone is having this issue?
*The AC controls, seats, and steering heaters are hard to access on the display while driving, and require a lot of attention away from the road! I don't like it.
* 5 seconds limiter, I wish this never existed.
*Trip consumption, this is not that accurate, this picture is from this morning, showing a total of 17.8 miles, 5:07 minutes at 3.7 mi/kwh! this is wrong, I took this pic literally 1 mile away from my house and not 17.8, this is the 3rd time I catch "This trip" doing this, my trip 2 which is for the last 1290 miles is showing 2.8 mi/kwh! I am not sure if I should trust this wth the mistakes I am finding.

Ford Mustang Mach-E 1200 miles - My impression, Likes & Dislikes! Mach-E GT [Detailed Writeup] 20220601_074901

* Fordpass app, lagging and crappy.
* No actual kWh consumption, I can't monitor how many kWh I used to charge the car, would appreciate if anyone has any tips to do that.
* no remote unlock for the Frunk.

I think this is what I have for now, hating things, doesn't mean I hate the car, I hope that @Ford Motor Company listens and makes things better to make the overall experience amazing.

Issues:
Now finally, I'd like to report that a few days ago the check engine light went on, service car soon, I drove it as I was out with family, checked my Fordpass app and had powertrain malfunction / reduced power, I checked the forums and people reported this cleared after they restarted the car, I did the same and it went away, I am going on vacation tomorrow and will take it to the dealership to do updates first day I am back home.

That was shockingly fast order-to-delivery. Wow.
I agree, it was quick, my dealer quoted me 8 months when I ordered the car but hey I'll take that.

Took numerous attempts, but Fordpass finally loaded up the Frunk control to my Android. My wife's Apple loaded up instantly. So I'm guessing it was an Android Auto not Fordpass issue, benefit of the doubt. Love the Orange, part if me wishes I'd ordered it. Still love my GTPE

Regarding washing your car, do an internet search for "touchless car wash" in your city. There are many where I live. I haven't washed my car at a motorized-brush car wash in 15 years. "Spray-and-wash" coin-operated sites are an alternative, but don't dry with a towel...just drive fast to blow the water off. Personally, I use a medium-strength (1400 psi) electric pressure washer with the spray fanned-out to reduce the pressure, and then use an electric leaf-blower to dry the car...no micro-scratches whatsoever!

Same as mine -- sometimes having to push the door button twice or three times for it to open, but only after the car has been sitting for a while / fallen asleep. No big deal though.

I'm thinking Magna Ride will improve the bumpiness for those who have the GT PE.

Nice writeup. I drove 200 miles the first day of ownership, 800 miles the second day and another 200 miles the third day.

The car is pretty good, and overall I'm happier with this than anything else currently available.

Complaints for @Ford Motor Company :
Charging on this car is only slightly better than a Leaf, and Bolt. It's pathetic. Really pathetic. I had a consistent 75KW at every Electrify America Charging station I stopped at. At 8-12% I'd get a fleeting 125KW, then a consistent 75KW. This meant 3.5hours of charge time on an 800 mile trip. The Audi E-Tron and Tesla Model X that I rented for a week each both maintained a minimum of 125KW all the way to 80%, regularly exceeding 150KW. Figure that s**t out Ford. On a 91KW battery you need to do better. Also, I got similar charge speeds on a base model, standard battery MachE i rented for a week a couple months ago. I assumed the larger battery, and "150KW upgrade" would be an upgrade, but not so much.

I despise the glass roof. The sun was always right on my head, or managed to get between the gap at the top of my sunglasses. The tint ain't good enough. As cool as it is to look up at skyscrapers, i'd rather have the acoustic absorption, insulation, and rollover protection of a non-glass roof. Still deciding wheher it was worth it for the blue cruise. So far not. Audi at least has a sun shade. Instead I'm scouring amazon for a chinese solution to cheap @Ford Motor Company 's problem.

Mach-E GT [Detailed Writeup] 20220513_190011

If you made it this far, then thanks for reading my post, let me know what your experiences are, any tips to make the things that I complained from work better is appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback fellow San Diegan. Someday I may find myself in your backdraft. A soon to be Premium RWD owner, if my car ever arrives. Already past Ford's estimated delivery window. But once received, i'll come back to this post and compare notes. Thanks again.

In FordPass tap on “details” at the bottom when the car is plugged in and it will show kWh used.

I don't think I see it mentioned anywhere, but safe to assume the unit for Time column is minutes, right? Just picked up mine today and pondering whether to install L2 at home but if I can get 30% in 4 hours overnight, that might be fine for the time being..

30% on L1 in 4 hours won't happen. You might get 15 miles max in that time frame. L1 gives about 1% per hour. The actual rate will vary based on temps and charge %.

Here's an example from a couple weeks ago when my dad had my car:

Starting Charge - 47%
Ending Charge - 76%
Time on Charger - 45h26m
Charged - 47%
Miles - 100

Starting Charge - 75%
Ending Charge - 78%
Time on Charger - 2h42m
Charged - 3%
Miles - 6

Fair and probably pretty accurate. It's why I'm asking.. OP's chart shows 120v adding 30% in 215 time units on 5/13 and I'm making an assumption that each time unit is a minute based on some of his other values such as the 63% added in 51 time units at an EA fast charger on 5/17.

You sound super sensitive to it or something jr I’ve had zero issues with the glass roof in Florida direct sun light. Sometimes forget it’s even there.

We can do the math and get even more factual.

120v @ 12 amps (a standard 15amp plug) will deliver 1.4kW
Due to EVSE loss the car will get about 1.2kW in a perfect climate and a lot less in cold or really hot climates.
This means that you should get a little over 1% of the battery in an hour in perfect conditions.

There's just no way he got 30% (27.3 kW) in 215 minutes (3.5 hours). That has to be a typo.

I get tons of compliments on the orange! I love it, how did you get the frunk control to load? not showing in my fordpass??

Regarding washing your car, do an internet search for "touchless car wash" in your city. There are many where I live. I haven't washed my car at a motorized-brush car wash in 15 years. "Spray-and-wash" coin-operated sites are an alternative, but don't dry with a towel...just drive fast to blow the water off. Personally, I use a medium-strength (1400 psi) electric pressure washer with the spray fanned-out to reduce the pressure, and then use an electric leaf-blower to dry the car...no micro-scratches whatsoever!
The carwash I went to had a tochless option, I've used it before, it doesn't clean, pretty much useless.

Same as mine -- sometimes having to push the door button twice or three times for it to open, but only after the car has been sitting for a while / fallen asleep. No big deal though.

I'm thinking Magna Ride will improve the bumpiness for those who have the GT PE.
It may make it better but $6k or $7k more than my GT is not worth it at all.
