Question: What is the ideal external temperature for mach-e extended battery performance? I live in flat Florida and I am think that it should be ideal here.

The battery likes to be between roughly 60 to 100 degrees F. Max range would likely be where the car has to neither heat or cool the battery. Or the driver, for that matter.

What exactly is the secret sauce in the RT1 vs any RWD Extended? Low friction tires and revised final drive ratio?

I think you will find that the Cal RT1 has 18" wheels whereas any other RWD ER (Premium) has 19"

18" wheels with aero covers; it reduces drag around the wheels, netting 5% better efficiency

So not much benefit in urban/suburban driving?

Still it's cheaper than an RWD premium extended I guess.

Yup: Its the least expensive 300 mile EV on the market right now.

(Mine should be here within a few weeks ;) )

Yup, I saved $2200 but gave up heated seats/steering wheel. I'll soon see if it was a good deal or not.

Yeah I thought long and hard about that when it came time to order as I had a select reserved and played around with a bunch of different configurations before settling in on the CA Rt1 one.

I'm not that concerned that its only RWD as EV traction controls are very good (along with its heft), but heating did give me pause. In the end I figure I'll be preconditioning far more than just jumping in a cold car so it shouldn't make too much of a difference (and with that big battery I'll likely be preconditioning it a lot).

I believe the CRT1 also lacks the power/kick lift gate, perhaps to save weight and electricity.
