Interesting the GT models saw no change at all. I wonder if they're not getting the extra battery capacity unlockedā€¦and instead are getting more power time?* o_O

*I am not a battery scientist and have no idea if what I said makes any sense.

Good point, if they get more battery capacity why would they not get more range? ?

I thought the GT's already got the extra 3 kWh capacity from the beginning.

Ford was less conservative with the GT modelsā€™ EPA rating than the other models last year and maybe felt they wanted to understate it after all for 2022 like they did with the non-GT models in 2021.

In other words, I think Ford isnā€™t officially claiming more range for the GTs even though they got the same increase in battery capacity.

Good question, I keep thinking there is a mistake somewhere along the way and then these official EPA numbers come out and say the same thing.
Same - I think most people assumed the CR1 AWD was new, so it got an EPA est. with the 91kwh change and the Prem. AWD hadn't been updated (not that a 3% change in kwh would necessarily create an 8+% change in miles, but still). But now these have been updated, and still seem off. The prem is heavier than the CR1, with larger wheels, so it makes sense that BOTH prem (RWD and AWD) would have a bit lower miles, but the discrepancy comparing RWD and AWD of each is strange.

In 14,000 miles Iā€™m averaging 118 mpge on my daily ~88 mile commute. ā€˜21 AWD Select.
I think the EPA MPGe are conservative because my experience with an RWD SR is it was closer to 105-110 MPGe on the highway than the 93.

This is essentially correct. The original estimates for the GT and GT-PE were 250 and 230 miles on the 88kWH pack. When they went into production they were revised to 260 and 250. ??

As of right now, I have not heard that the GT and GT-PE have gotten the decrease in upper and lower buffers to increase the usable battery capacity. ?ā€ā™‚?

I sorta of agree and my commute in the summer averaged 3.9. Nonetheless, Iā€™m pretty pleased at the efficiency and quality of our MME.
