I know it is not a Mach-E review, but I still found I agreed with the general consensus that Ford may need to change a bit how they market Blue Cruise.

I agree, the main reason I really found this informative is because I have seen a lot of harsh criticism of Blue Cruise and a lot of people claiming that they find it more stressful than driving without it, and I could not understand why. Until this video, as I definitely approach Blue Cruise more towards the direction that it is an Aid to driving and not that it is self-driving. Having that understanding that hands off mode does not mean you have to take your hands off, and Hands on mode does not mean the system is not working at all. This is really like a lane keep assist system, that has certain stretches of roads that it is confident enough to allow you to let go of the wheel, that is a better way to explain it.
Besides I have driven Tesla’s FSD, and GM’s Super cruise and I find the engage/disengage process with those systems far more stressful than BlueCruise. It is actually one reason why we went with Ford over Tesla; I hated how with FSD if you guided the vehicle a little out of what it thought was center, to avoid a pot hole or some Debris in the road it would disengage and send out an alarming tone that sounds to your passengers like you did something wrong.

Agree, very good perspective and helps manage expectations. I like their asking at one point what does this do over standard adaptive cruise control with lane keeping assistance and in a way they echoed what's been said previously on this forum, and nicely summed up by @DevSecOps in this post:

The one subtlety here is they may have meant lane centering and not lane keeping assist, given what @DevSecOps wrote (BC = ACC + LC + hands free).

Thanks for the recognition.

My perspective on this is that there's a lot of people who have never had ACC or LC on any car previously so they shout from the heavens about how BC is a game changer. For those of us who have been using these systems with other mfgs for many years, it's just the same as what we always had, but now we can remove our hands for more than 30 seconds on SOME roads. We also gained an annoying eye nanny, which I've never had before and I hate it.

The ACC on the MME (and other Fords I've driven) is way better than the ACC on the Clarity I had. It snaps right in when set, and is very responsive to speed changes. On the Clarity, it did not snap into place when set until the car slowed down 2-3 mph. When approaching a car, it would maintain speed until fairly close, then abruptly slow down. When the car in front sped up, it took some time before the Clarity would speed up. The lane keeping / centering also is more reliable, the Clarity seemed to have trouble deciding where the lines were when there was patched cracks and when the road was wet. The MME is better at that, but still seems to get confused when the lane markings are not totally clear.

I figure that I’ll probably use it with my hands on the wheel but at least I won’t have to keep twitching to keep the warning away. The eye nanny - I don’t know about yet as I have no experience with it. Seems pretty sensitive from other reports, I.e. too quick to yell at you. I don’t know. I guess I’ll see when I get it. Might hate it, might not.

I'm excited to not hold onto the wheel on straight, desolate highways and slow, stop-and-go traffic where lane centering, etc., constantly nagged me to "keep hands on steering wheel." I will probably never trust it enough on 65+ mph crowded highways to not hold onto the wheel.

I am still waiting for this to be installed on my MME. I had the car in the shop just after Xmas and they updated all the factory firmware, but still no BlueCruse.

I’ve never had it yell at me yet. No warnings, nothing. It’s worked great. Used it 5 or 6 times for a total of 40-50 miles.
