To me this is a GOD sent blessing ... it did add a total new dimension to the already awesome Mach-e driving experience...!!!

I got my BlueCruise since 05/16/2022 through FordPoweUp v.2.8.2; since I have driven more than 550 miles by making one day trips from my Orlando location to the four corners of the state. I took local roadways as well as State routes and county roads in addition to interstates (including the just opened I-4 Express Lanes) and most if not all of tolled roads, and BlueCruise was available. However, I never got any notifications about "BlueCruise Map" so I don't what that is, but int the following OTA (v.2.8.3) that I received, it added a new button to Adpative (former Intelligent) Cruise and enabled me to receive notificaitons whenever I was traveling on a "BlueCruise ready highway"... either I see that pop up or I just press the cruise button on the steering and the display magically goes into a deep blue, to me the blue display hue is too dark, specially if you are wearing polarized sun glass. However, in no way it interfered with the Eye Nanny functionality for it faithfully monitored your eyeballs; and I tried to take a brief snooze or do a video with phone, the Eye Nanny promptly called me out and told me stop horsing around ...!!! I noticed that the LED lights on the bar above the steering no longer blinks red in the videos taken.

The BlueCruise will cut out if you are traveling directly unto sunset situation ...i.e. into a blue sky with strong sun background, so beware of this. It worked well in a typical FL intense squalls. It will also cut out if the stripping are faded under strong sunlight, but during night the same stretch of highway worked under headlight illumination the BlueCruise did not cut out. You need to be mindful that if your speed is set too high and you come upon portion of a construction zone section with abrupt lane shifting the experience can be daunting ... and beware of the car in front comes to a fast and sudden full stop ... that experience is more than daunting, it is downright nerve wrecking ...!!! When traveling on right lanes, there will be constant BlueCruise cutting out whenever you approach off/on ramps sections due to interruption of stripping. Also pay more attention to the "Curve Ahead" pop ups, activate it if you have not done so; because this is a hint that you may have to reduce the set speed if the curve is too sharp, not because the BlueCruise is not capable of handling but to avoid any or your passengers barfing inside your new Mach-e ... the system will hunt and weave withing the lane, but it never went our of the center just the process was a little unnerving. There is no slowing down on a curve even though the on board Nav can predict it without fail.

The BlueCruise managed well under the maddening heavy traffic condition on I-4 by downtown Orlando and the I-95 approaching Ft Lauderdale/Miami areas. So to maximize the smoothness of your ride quality you will need to find a sweet spot between the ideal "set speed" and "follow distance". If you set the speed too high then the ride will become choppy, set the follow distance too far then then idiots will be cutting in, set too it short then then the ride becomes choppy again due to harsh braking. I do not know if driving without 1-pedal will smooth out the harshness of brake response because I exclusively drive with 1-pedal 100% of time.

These are my takes:

Pros
: Easy to use, manual lane changing is intuitive so, when it cuts out it reverts back to either adpative cruise or normal cruise control. the Eye Nanny does a superb job, I got polarized prescription lenses with transition on top of that very dark sunglasses and no problem at all. BlueCruise can handle heavy traffic without any drama. There is definitely a "WOW" factor ... if you engage the BlueCruise mode quietly and then proceed to chat with your passenger or your significant other ...the look on their faces is just priceless !!!

Cons: No lane changes, no on/off ramp continuity when traveling on right lanes. Need to find a "sweet spot" (set speed and following distance settings), this is necessary for every traffic condition to achieve a smooth comfortable ride. BlueCruise does not react too well when in construction zones with abrupt sharp lane shifting. Full complete stop from cruising speed is daunting, so when you feel the car is slowing and you see red brake lights be prepared to either disengage or step on the brake. Paying attention of Curve Ahead pop up is essential. Also sudden dips on highwats when traveling at high speed will produce somewhat of a lagging speed control responses, so to find the ideal set speed is essentail to get the best out of BlueCruise for the comfort of passengers.

Conclusion: This is a good system with all the safety considerations, but it is not a FULL SELF DRIVING (this is at best at Level 2+++), it will require your attention albeit under a much less stressful situation ...you can now pick your nose...or scratch you know what ... if your significant other doesn't berates as mine did ... If you are fortunate enough to have BlueCruise then use it wisely and safely ... you will enjoy it !!!

PS: My benchmark for adaptive cruise control smoothness was my 2017 Mercedes GLA SUV250 Distronic system, but sytem only engaged at speeds over 25 mph but it did have collision full stop capability but never had an opportunity to it have activated.

Thankfully it wonā€™t let you be like every Tesla driver Iā€™ve seen on I4, looking down at their phone the entire drive. Honestly that should be illegal that Tesla has no face monitoring.

One nice feature about our BlueCruise compared to autoPilot is that you can do things with both of your hands provided that your eyeballs' attitude passes the Eye Nanny scrutiny ...she no like when I take video with my phone !!! I test drove my neighbors Model Y with autoPilot (I know today it is called something else) and it was a monumental pain to constantly hold the steering wheel, and even with auto lane changing, feature to bring back to course when it goes stray required more effort. The Model Y ride was a lot more choppy and harsher when in autoPilot mode. Ours seemed to be much smoother.

Nice, if you ever see a MME with a shark license plate ESHRK, thatā€™s me. Weā€™re at Disney a lot, but rarely parked at the chargers cause those things are always full. Isnā€™t it crazy thereā€™s only 4 spots at each park?

I have a 22 GT with the BlueCruise and I don't see what all the fuss is about this feature.
Lets see car with No BlueCruise = seated behind the wheel looking straight ahead paying attention to the road, hands on the wheel.
Car with BlueCruise = seated behind the whee looking straight ahead paying attention to the road, hands 4 inches from the wheel.
How is this so freaking earth shattering you have to sit there anyway and they want you to pay them for this, so what's the big deal.
Plus one little hiccup with the system and you could be dead or crippled.
I don't think so!

How many trips have you taken with your car? Do you ever drive a multiday trip doing say 500 - 600 miles a day?

We have taken 4 or 5 trips of one to two days each way with our Mach-Es, the last one with BlueCruise. Handsfree driving is more relaxing, you end up at the end of the day less tired. Of course pre-BlueCruise letting the car steer while you keep your hands on the wheel is also less tiring than driving without the driving aids.

I'm not worried about being deal or crippled by the system... o_O #hyperbole

I certainly won't pay once they start charging subscription. Tesla autopilot keeps in lane much smoother without pingpong between the lines. And the handsfree gets cancelled way too often making it pretty useless. Handsfree shouldn't even be enabled in construction zone, yet it does.

BlueCruise is a toy. It's cool, and it's fun to try it out. But it can not be trusted. Ever.

Worth it? Yes, for me the entertainment value was worth it. Also kind of interesting to experience first-hand how far away the big auto companies are from practical, safe automated driving. It'll happen, but not soon.

If you see a red one with a Virginia Tech license plate holder, that's me.

The Disney charging spots cost money, don't they?

Yeah, but they are also premium spots right next to the gates, so itā€™s worth the cost, ends up being cheaper than what they charge for premium parking

This is my exact opinion. It ping pongs when it works but on the 417 around Orlando, it shuts off on every turn and tool booth (even though it is a high speed E pass lane). I can't go more than 5 minutes with it working.

Interesting. I hadn't thought of that. How do you get one of those spaces?

BTW, please let me know if you find a hack to get on Guardians. I had park reservations for Friday but the boarding groups were gone in less than a second.

You just gotta get there at park open.

Guardians is awesome, probably the best ride at WDW now. I was able to ride a couple times during previews. The boarding group is kind of the luck of the draw. But I do know that the option to buy Individual Lightning Lane option does stay available longer, and thereā€™s also more that get released at 7:12 AM cause thatā€™s when the ones people canceled get put back into the system. I know it sucks to have to pay, but itā€™s worth to do it at least first time.

Also sorry for hijacking the thread with Disney stuff lol
