***Update***

As most have figured out, I am able to track on BNSF. I’ve been tracking MME orders ever since I ordered mine. Initially I thought about asking for a small donation as It started taking up some of my time and was a pain in the ass on my phone to do. Couple that with getting my data throttled for too much use. Anyways, long story short, the donation was going to go towards activating and paying for the data on an old ipad to track the deliveries. While I like helping people out I didn’t want to do it at my own expense. Anyways I’ve scratched that idea and will still activate the iPad and proceed like before. Just DM on here or message me through Venmo. I’m always on Venmo and that’s your best bet for a quick reply. @emersonsdad

However you message me, just add your railcar number in the comment. and I usually respond within a few hrs. Make sure you have the correct railcar number (I can’t track VINs) and that it is, in fact, traveling by BNSF rail or I can’t find it. Thanks in advance!

***End of update***

Just thought I’d give some insight to those who’s MMEs travel on BNSF to California since nobody can track it. MMEs traveling by BNSF rail will end up in two spots, San Diego for SoCal and Richmond for Central and NorCal. They will travel on 2 different mixed freight trains for each destination. The first train is from Kansas City to Barstow, Ca with stops along the way. Those stops are Wellington, KS->Amarillo, TX->Clovis, NM->Belen, NM->Winslow, AZ->Needles, Ca->Barstow, Ca. At each stop a new train crew will get on and take it to the next station. This first train takes three days to make it to Barstow. Once in Barstow that train will get switched out by a yard job and the rail car your MME is on will be placed into it’s second train within about 30 hrs. For SoCal MMEs it will be 1 day of travel to San Diego with one stop in San Bernardino. For Central and NorCal trains, it’s about 2 days travel to Richmond with stops in Bakersfield->Fresno->Stockton. Once the trains arrive in either San Diego Or Richmond, they will be switched out once again and then yard crews will deliver the Autoracks to the Ford plants to be off loaded and then loaded on to trucks to your dealership. So it can be as soon as 7-8 days travel by rail but there are usually hiccups along the way like train crew shortages, service interruptions, and traffic congestion.

Thank you. Question, at what point in the journey will the dealer have the railcar number? I believe I'm in KC at the moment since palsap status is picked. Is that something I can request from them now? Ultimate destination is Manhattan Beach in socal.

Mine is on its way to Alaska from KC. What route does BNSF take to get to the Pacific Northwest? I believe it is then barged from Seattle to Anchorage.

Your car will be offloaded at the BNSF railyard in Renton, WA, trucked to the port of Tacoma, and shipped to the port of Anchorage. It will then be trucked by Wrightway Auto Carriers (most likely) to Seekins.

My schedule looked like this although my dealer was Kendall in Wasilla and the car was driven back to Wrightway in Anchorage then shipped to Wrightway's office here. My car's schedule:

Production Date 12 Jan 21
Ship Date 19 Jan 21
Arrive KC 1 Feb 21
Arrive Seattle 14 Feb 21
Arrive Wasilla Alaska Dealer 3 Mar 21
Arrive Anchorage Auto Transport 15 Mar 21
Arrive Fairbanks 16 Mar 21

BTW: There really is no way to follow the car's progress after it reaches Renton railyard.

In addition, Cars destined for Hawaii travel to San Diego via BNSF. They’re then waiting on space on a Pasha Ship sailing every two weeks to Honolulu, Maui and Hilo. The wait in San Diego can exceed the rest of the journey combined.

Thanks! Mine hung around KC a bit longer than yours. Just as well as the roads suck right now anyway. Just as soon get used to the Mach on dry roads.

I can see where any rail car is on our railroad. I just don’t know time frames and stops along the other routes. I really only know the Needles to Richmond routes because I’ve worked all of them over the years. I had to research KC to Needles.

Update. The train my MME is on just hit Barstow completing the first of 2 train trips. Ended up being quicker than the average trip. Here are the trip logs for time reference.

Kansas City, KS 0845 3/11
Wellington, KS 1900 3/11
Amarillo, TX 0631 3/12
Clovis, NM 1000 3/12
Belen, NM 1845 3/12
Winslow, AZ 0130 3/13
Needles, Ca 1053 3/13
Barstow, CA 2215 3/13

Hopefully it can be switched out tonight and my rail car will be placed into tomorrow’s (3/14) Richmond train. Probably not likely but one can hope. If not at least 3/15’s train.

My MME just arrived via rail car to southern CA on the 10th, however it did not come via BNSF.

I had gotten a Norfolk Southern rail car number from my dealership, which happened to be the rail car mine stayed on the entire duration on the way out here. It was however pulled by UP engines. Another So Cal waiter had gotten the UP rail car information from their dealership, which provided a delivery eta. Come to find out that was the depot deliver eta.

Anyhow, my rail car was a complete different direction having come across with UP engines pulling it. This went through Topeka, across Nebraska, up into Wyoming, down through Utah, Nevada, and then into CA.

Left Muncie Ramp on 3/2, arrived in Mira Loma on 3/10

I just got called for work and I’ll be running the train my MME is on. I’m going to try and get a peek at it. Hopefully it’s on the bottom platform of the autorack.

As much as I want my GTPE tomorrow
I will just hunker down and wait for 4/8 to 4/14/22 per Ford’s last correspondence…Lol

i see no point tracking it daily & losing hope if it does not come earlier…..

my 2 cents

Eh, something to do. I don’t have Facebook or instagram or anything like that so this satisfies my internet sweet tooth.
