It has been a great year with my Grabber Blue Mach-E! while I may not drive it much since I work two miles from home I have racked up just under 6k miles.

I ordered a 2021 on May 31st which after waiting on dealer allocation, parts shortages, and the dreaded "chip shortage" it finally arrived at the dealer on June 1st 2022, a year and a day after ordering.

I had originally ordered a star white but when the order was bumped to a 22 model year I swithed to the available Grabber Blue. An advantage at the time was that regional Ford dealers were offering a 2K discount which was applied to my order. The sales manager even accepted my x-plan and it saved me almost another 2k on top of the Delaware state rebate that was applied at time of sale.

After driving several demos and throughly reading the owners manual several times I felt very comfortable driving my new baby off the lot.

Now for the good, and of course the bad....

I'll start with the bad, my only complaints stem from the technology in the car. While it does do everything great and most of the features do help, I would have been happier without the $600 I paid for three years of BlueCruise, in my opinion it should be an option a buyer can select. I tend to enjoy driving and while some people love BC, I personally have only tried it twice and did not enjoy the experience. Next is the "smart" features that have a mind of their own. The headlight switch changes from auto to on by itself, a few of the updates have caused issues like chaging profile to guest, and the dreaded drive mode unavailable. Now mind you these are only minor nuisances that I deal with especially since they are not constant.

Now for the good!

The performance and handling are far superior to any vehicle I have owned in the past 20 years. While the ride is firm, I don't consider it bouncy and my wife has never complained about the ride, she even thinks it better than her Leaf.

Driver seating and positioning are just as good as my previous Escape and back seat passengers have more legroom in the MME than the escape ever had.

The best part of owning an MME? driving past gas stations! While I may not have as much mileage as others do in a year of driving, my cost per mile has dropped to just under $0.04 versus the Escape which with services was right at $0.19.

I have only DCFC a couple of time just to try it out before my upcoming first road trip in the MME this Summer.

My only additions to my MME have been front side window ceramic tint and the AOSK mud flaps. I had also purchased a second Key Fob when the 21's were only sold with one but when it was updated to a 22my it automatically came with a second fob, oh and I have never used PAAK, just dont trust it.

My next purchase for the MME will be a Ford extended warranty. I waited the first year to see what would happen with the car.

I am also probably going to order a "modern Spare" before my trip to Florida this Summer for that extra bit of "just in case" peace of mind.

With my first year over, I am looking forward to plenty more to come!

Tony I am mostly in the same boat as you. I have an 2021 MME GT PE that arrived in Jan 22. I had my one year service in January with 7000 miles. Everything has been great with the car. I have never used DC charging. I have a 23 Maverick Lariat ICE that I use for longer trips. I didnā€™t visit a gas station for over a year until the Maverick came in and that was a great experience. Continue to enjoy your MME as I will mine.

I have over 10k miles and will be at the 1-year mark this week. Outside of the possible HVJB failure in the future, I have no major complaints. I drive it daily to work and I have taken several road trips with no issues. I fast charge on average twice a month, mostly charge in my garage (Level 2 Grizzle-E Charger).

I had one issue with the "service now, stop safely" and the car would not charge, but it was a software bug and went away after the car had time to cool down.

We picked up our Mustang in very late February 2022. We just got a notification in Ford Pass that it's time to schedule our 20,000 miles service.

We both work from our home offices most of the time.

However, I have a lot of work in the Pasadena area, so have made a bunch of 1100+ miles round trip drives, we consider a day trip to be 200-300 miles, and I've gone on some longer work trips. My partner has a regular day trip down off our mountain into the valley of the sun and back, about once or twice a month, about 300 miles round trip (and 6000 ft elevation gain on the way home).

It's been a fantastic year with no problems.

This photo is from one of my longer road trips (through Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and back through TX, NM, and AZ). I stayed one night at a campground just off I10.

Iā€™m at 2,500 miles, and have some minor gripes and one irritant. The damn ā€œkeep your eyes on the road sensorā€. I tend to cruise with my right arm on the top left of the steering wheel, and it constantly triggers that warning. I have a long torso, short legs, so itā€™s a natural way for me to sit.

Iā€˜ve had better handling cars, even my accord felt more nimble, but overall itā€™s a pretty damn nice ride.

I used to be in charge of a large haulage fleet running heavy trucks,we used to use sae30 in summer and sae20 in winter, one of the engines failed and seized up the crankshaft,we put that down to oil pump failure. A Chemist came in from Shell at the Bosses request and we discussed this multigrade thing at length with regards to thick and thinner oils which made me think about things in a different way. I was always in favour of thicker oils to maintain oil pressure at running temperatures,he explained to me that thinner oils flow easier at low temperatures so lubricate better when the engine needs it most at cold starts,he also said that engine oil was not just for lubrication itā€™s was there to cool the moving parts by keeping the friction between them to a minimum. A thin oil will pump round the engine quicker than a thick oil so the more oil circulating the more cooling is taking place even if the oil pressure isnā€™t quite as high,he convinced me and the boss and we changed to 10w30 in winter and 15w40 in summer, some of our engines went on to do over 1-5 million miles without any problems so I think he proved his point.

That headlight switchā€¦ Donā€™t you just love the undocumented feature of it switching to the ā€œONā€ position? šŸ¤ŖšŸ©

Some people swear by PaaK, some at it. I was in the ā€œI donā€™t trust PaaKā€ camp before I got my car. I set it up and now all three keys sit in the safe unless I am going on a trip. YMMV. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ©

Am a happy PAAK user.

Had read so many negative comments in the blogs prior to buying the vehicle that I went for four months without trying it, however, once I set it up itā€™s worked near perfect with an occasional Key not detected warning (goes away with the push of the start button)ā€¦. havenā€™t had the key in the car for the last four months.
