Drivetribe imagines the Mach-E in some classic Ford Motorsport liveries.

YOU HAD TO DO A GULF ONE DIDN'T YOU?
Yes. And we quite like it. One day I imagine we'll see full EVs howling around Le Mans for the full 24 hours – we're some way off, but given how quickly battery tech is advancing it might not be as far away as you think.

EV RALLY CARS NEED TO BE A THING
Arguably the most iconic rally car of the 00s, the Martini-liveried Ford Focus RS didn't actually net Colin McRae a WRC world championship, but it definitely propelled him to global fame. Who doesn't remember him rolling it, then carrying on as if nothing had happened? Electric rally cars are surely on the horizon, though we can only imagine what spectator crowd control will need to be like to get people out the way of near-silent off-road missiles.

HERE'S A MODERN LE MANS LEGEND
When Ford introduced its new, turbocharged, V6-powered Ford GT it made no bones about the fact that it was a race car first and a road car second. Luckily the car's performance at its first Le Mans 24 Hour race sealed its place in history – it won its class on the 50th anniversary of the original car's 1966 victory. The World Endurance Championship's opening up to more extreme, petrol-powered hypercars next year, but we think there's a place in the future for long-distance electric racing.

:D Not sure the Ecoboost would make much sense unless they are going to give us a Turbo button like the Attack mode they have in Formula-E.

Well you're in luck because WRC is going hybrid in 2022.

"The aim is to enable the cars to run on pure electric power in cities and provide an electric power boost on special stages."

Are you talking remote controlled cars, or autonomous...? (ie: Tesla boi cars?)

You should really watch or read things before replying. These are races on tracks with drivers. Just like GT races. Your effort before replying is just sad.

First off I've been following Formula E since the beginning, & did watch the video. I am mocking all the people who want to see a Mach E on the track, because I was told it is NOT a track worthy car.... that the Mustang Mach E is a grocery getter and not a performance vehicle.

Yet, am reminded by all Tesla owners who think their car is a performance vehicle... & touting drag videos to prove "performance".

Subsequently, I like racing.... don't care if it's EV, but when those pseudo cars and ours (publically available) aren't the same, its called vaporware..! So I can kid & mock all I want and you can't take offense to none of it.

That's perfectly fine. It seemed very much like you were completely unaware of any of the EV circuits. The fact that the Shelby Mach E is being worked on means the Mach E can be a track car. It's not meant to be, but neither is a regular Mustang GT.

Can't have it both ways... make a Mach E for everyone, then exclude the Mustang drivers. Seems like a slap in the face, no...?

I don't really see how it excludes mustang drivers when there are a good amount buying non-V8 variants. Also, for those getting GT and up that don't track them. My mother in law has a GT, that car has never seen a track.
