Back in 1965 when the Mustang first came out, they had a lighted pony option for the front grill area. It may have been aftermarket but I think it would be a nice touch to the front of a Mache. I would like it to glow blue.

The GT pony will be illuminated. None of the others will. No word on whether there will be a Ford or aftermarket accessory. I suspect you’re going to have to replace the entire front insert if you want it though.

Somebody will come up with an aftermarket kit for it. It's just a matter of when. I hope. ;)

Do we know that for sure or was that just from fancy overproduced online marketing videos?

Which part?

I believe this is part of the official release in last November.

Some recent video mentioned it. But yeah, I don't think it's for sure.

Sorry. I was asking if the stock GT pony would be illuminated.

The GT I saw in the Washington Auto show had a glowing pony.

Makes me jealous.

I would love it if the glow around the pony was color configurable. I can imagine my Cyber Orange GT with an orange glowing pony

That could only be done in park, but it could be done.

Once the car is in motion, the lighted badge would have to be white per the current regulations in the US. In some countries, it wouldn't be allowed, period.

Aftermarket companies have it so much easier when they design "fun" things like this in that they don't operate to the same regulatory standards.

looks like only '1' bolt holds the Badge in place. If the bolt is easy to access... then it should be simple to replace. However, I have yet to find a Ford Part# for it:

I bet their will be a lighted grill pony accessory. In 2011 my Ford Fiesta had lighted sill plates as an option. The dealer installed them for me.
