And, based on the production line interior image, a dash and instrument cluster from the early 2000s, including a tiny Sync screen 😢
My friend, that's literally a 2015 s550 mustang interior. The actual interior will be pretty nice for the 30k price.

I think we’re likely a year away from seeing a prototype and 18 months or more from seeing it on the Ford website. 2027 is not going to be its model year I’d wager.
They said prototypes are starting to be tested on city streets and tracks alike. If that's true, I give it sub 1 month before we see our first prototypes.

As for styling, here are some of the sketches. It looks like the actual truck will have a longer hood than the blue sketch, but I like how bold it is. That blue design would suit the ranchero name well with the angled bed side and muscular fenders.

They’ve also never said it’ll be a 27 model year car. It’ll be in production in 2027, but that’s not the same thing.

We shall see though. There are enough forum members in the greater Detroit area with trigger finger cellphone cameras. :)

The early prototypes are Frankenstein's using MP vehicles with parts & components from the development. It will be a while before we see final production body design prototypes running around in heavy camo.

I'd say we're past the early prototype stage if we're only about a year out. It's not the same for every product or brand, but Frankenstein style mules are usually a couple years out from production kinda deal.

I'd say we're past the early prototype stage if we're only about a year out. It's not the same for every product or brand, but Frankenstein style mules are usually a couple years out from production kinda deal.
If this is an "accelerated" development, it's under the typical ~36 month cycle, so everything is compressed. Plus more & more testing is being done virtually, which further reduces the number of physical prototypes. Final design prototypes are outrageously expensive, so there will likely not be many, and still months away, based on Ford's claimed time frame.

I'm surprised that they don't have 1940s jeepish bodies to attach to EV skateboards. It would say, haha, don't look at me!

Ford has said the vehicle will enter production in 2027. They have not said when in 2027 it will be, nor have they indicated which model year it will be. It could be a 2027 model or a 2028, depending on when it actually enters production. There's a lot of intentional leeway in their dates.

Looks a bit like a Cybertruck.
I don't think it will look anything remotely like that, given Ford's own description of it.

I'm also skeptical, but at the same time, hoping to be pleasantly surprised. We shall see.... 🤠

This is some pretty incredible stuff. It's a very serious and committed initiative into the EV space by Ford and I completely understand now why Jim Farley refers to it as a pivotal Model T moment. I'm very excited to see how this all unfolds in the coming 18 months or so. Although I wouldn't get the truck (just not a truck guy), I'll be intently following the future models debuting after, and specifically the crossover SUV that will inevitably replace the Mach. And whatever that is, once my Mach gives up the ghost, it'll be my next EV 💯 (just please don't call it a Mustang🙏)
