Guess I'm just old enough that the high frequency hearing loss is starting to kick in??

I've spent some time (several hours) sitting in the drivers seat (and passenger seat) in the garage playing with the various settings and haven't noticed it at all.
Same with me and I heard it in @methorian's video!

???

I only hear the fans too. Not buzzing.
I don't hear the buzzing either .... maybe we need to track who hears it by age. may show an interesting distribution

LOL I don't hear a thing in my car; perhaps you're willing yourself to hear it. I even cranked the volume on the video to see if I could hear it...nope.

(No one that has ridden in my car has heard it either.)

I can post a video from behind the dash too but the camera was right there making this one.

Note that there *is* some noise in the video but that is the HVAC fan.
I could hear it but had to stick my ear right up to the speaker of my laptop which was at 100% volume. At that level, I could care less.

When I took video of it (Didn't post it), the sound on the video was louder than what I actually heard.

I was thinking the same thing. Is there a way to do a 2 part poll? I hear it but my husband does not.

Actually, he'd have to take the same video w/ the car off to make sure we know the phone isn't introducing noise.

You cannot really compare with phone recording. The phone model, the placement of the phone, the microphone volume all play a role here.

In my Mach E, I can hear it very clearly when my head touches the head rest.

It's hard to tell whether it's due to different hearing sensitivity or different display noise level or different recording/playback configuration. Microphones also have different sensitivity to different frequencies.

I must be mistaken.
I thought we (MME forum members) knew about Tesla.
I based my decision on what I knew and learned.
I decided on the MME.
What has Tesla to do with it at this point?
Me thinks it to be a good choice.
Or
Am I mistaken?

Agreed.

Big difference between Tesla response to problems and Ford response to problems:
Tesla: It's not a problem or it's a feature. No fixing it until forced to.
Ford: We'll get our engineering team right on it.

But if you ask just about everyone that has had an issue if they still love the car almost all of them will say "yes" and "Ford will get it figured out".

So you just have to ask yourself how tolerant of issues are you? We are getting the very first builds of a new vehicle design built from the ground up...there will be things.

(So far mine has only had minor phone connectivity issues which I've got working...)
But if you ask just about everyone that has had an issue if they still love the car almost all of them will say "yes" and "Ford will get it figured out"----this is essentially what the Tesla owners state.

And everyone else that loves the product they bought when issues are found....

The difference will be when Ford actually does solve it and fix all the affected Mach Es voluntarily.

Not to be overly blunt, but the entire notion of "I can hear it" as mattering is downright stupid. You can "hear" anything above 3 dB, but that hardly means a noise of 3 dB is a problem. A quiet library is 40 dB and I would hope people don't think the "noise" of a quiet library is a problem.

I tried to measure the sound from the DIC and got nothing, meaning the sound level was below 50 dB, which is the lowest noise level my sound meter can measure. There is a reason why the meter doesn't measure anything below 50 dB -- below that level the noise is assumed not to matter.

Rather than posting videos and proclaiming whether you can "hear" it or not, let's see some actual measurements. That will at least allow for a rational discussion as to whether the sound level could be reasonably interpreted as being objectionable. To provide some context, normal human conversation is 60 dB and a quiet office is 50 dB. So we're looking at something quieter than a quiet office.

Are you for real? You think people want the same sound as “a quiet office” or “a library” inside their silent car?
