I’m really injured and when it happened smoke filled the interior of my vehicle so I’m coughing still I guess it’s in my lungs. Air bags deployed arms hurt, back, neck and chest plus a bruise on my stomach. Didn’t expect my afternoon to go like that.

Sorry for your accident. dont think it would of been smoke though. very little smoke comes from the explosive charge of an airbag going off. its more like the powder thats put on it to stop it sticking together. hope you get a gd payout for it

I do drive a lot of miles as I drive for a living and I’m glad too. I’m in a lot of pain but not totalled ‍.

I concur with everyone’s comment so far that the most important thing is that you walked away from this and first you must be sure you are checked out medically. In terms of the insurance payment, I recently went through something similar on a 2015 VW TDI sport wagon that was totalled from fire. You can assume they will start with a lowball estimate and it will be necessary for you to get your own estimates of similar vehicles in the area where you live. Unfortunately, this is probably even tougher because there is a very small number of cars and depreciation on electric cars is such a variable. I hope you have a better insurance company experience than I did with Allstate as I never felt I was in “good hands” and had to argue and threaten hiring an independent arbitrator but settled after they increased a bit,

S…t happens brother. The important thing is that you’re ok and were able to walk away from this. Hopefully once you settled with the insurance (if the payout is too low you can dispute it using current market data), you’ll be able to find the same vehicle, same color with less mileage that you had for about the same money.

I feel like a pretzel in quite a bit of pain but I’m alive. I am worried about the payout amount but hopefully it’ll be ok.

Based on the pain after the accident most likely not. I want something that’ll hold up better probably a jeep wrangler because the pain is unbearable.

Honestly, t-bone sucks no matter what car you are in. Get a good lawyer (personal injury ) and follow their instructions ( things to look for - make sure they don't go over 20%-30% of your total payout ) Spedy recovery.
