From the description on the video:
Yeah, I don't know why Alex is making all these excuses for Tesla. The heat pump kills us again. He would have gone 278.5 miles with a heat pump.
That's crazy talk, the EPA numbers are clearly the final word .Yeah, I don't know why Alex is making all these excuses for Tesla.
My bottom line take away: the Mach-E can go further on a full charge than a model Y.
His Model Y range test video was made in 95-degree weather though. Under the same testing conditions I would expect the two to have similar range. In tests done by 3rd parties it has been shown again and again Tesla's EPA ratings are consistently inflated, while others' numbers are conservative. That said, in terms of energy efficiency Tesla sets the benchmark for now. From the description on the video:
"In my last test of the Model Y I managed 225 miles of range, can Ford best that?"
Yep, one of our fav auto guys Bjørn said it only adds about 19 miles of range for the total trip at certain temps not so good.Let me go on record... Heat pumps are overrated.
The one everyone wants to see will be in a few months when @OutofSpecKyle teams up with @Mach-E VLOG and others to do a simultaneous range/charging test battle royale. His Model Y range test video was made in 95-degree weather though. more accurately: not all heat pump system are equalLet me go on record... Heat pumps are overrated.
