Did the unlock button next to the car's charging port (inside the 5 segment ring) not work?
It’s for the CCS connection not your home chargers.

Yes, and I thought that's what he was talking about - not being able to unlock from the CCS cable after charging?

This implies he is talking about a chargepoint DCFC:
With 60 miles on the MMe I took a quick trip from Ann Arbor to Mt. Pleasant. 165 miles in the cold left me with almost no charge. Luckily I already had an account with ChargePoint from the Bolt, and the station worked fine (but didn’t show up on the Ford navigation). I did have trouble unplugging it though, and almost had to dig into the frunk and figure out how to get to the ejection/rip cord.

as does this:
Correct. My J-1772 connection at home is snug, the CCS was locked and would not release. Pressing the “button” on the CCS stopped the charge, but it remained locked. Cycling the car on/of may have helped release it (not sure), but I was close enough to pulling the Manual Release cord that I researched it in the moment.

Here is a pic of the sync version. I haven't had a need to drive the car since they brought it back on Friday and the weather has been crappy anyways. Unfortunately the closet DCFC to me is about 30 miles away but when the weather get nicer in the week, I will take a drive and test it out. I was hopeful that the software update would address how laggy the screen has been but it appears that is still the same.

Doesn't look like your version of SYNC 4 has changed. Must have just been updates to various modules themselves.

I am starting to think they should have put the cover on hinges, those clips might not last long :)
I have two missing somewhere deep under the hood. Such a pain to remove!! Hinges would have been appreciated. Especially when working on it in 22 degrees.

Unfortunately my FordPass app currently only gives me a Ford Edge manual
Now that I have a VIN number I entered it into the Ford Pass app and the same thing happened to me - it showed I have a Ford Edge. How do you get it to recognize that this VIN is a Mach E? Will the app correct itself with time? It does have the software to begin setting up a profile but I'm not sure if that's for a Mach E or an Edge.

More reasons for these parts to be easily accessible with cutouts
Right, but pulling that should be the absolute last resort. You have 2 options to electronically unlock the CCS connector, so even if the unlock button on the charge port is broken you don't have to take the car apart - there is an unlock button on the touchscreen as well:

I would not worry about it until you get your car and have scanned the VIN barcode from the car into the Ford Pass app. Maybe there is a way around this but, when I got my car, I deleted FordPass from my phone, reinstalled FordPass app, ran the setup with my dealer including scanning the VIN barcode on the door frame and things went very well from there.

Thanks, I'll try that then. My only worry about doing that is erasing data. Will it erase my accumulated Ford Rewards Points? I have over 80,000 now and could have over 100,000 when the car is delivered in June or July and want to use them to lower the price. We're running everything through our Rewards Pass VISA and the points really add up each month and I don't want to lose them.

I highly suggest for all after taking delivery and before going on a long trip where one would be relying on DCFC to test it beforehand.

99% of the Ford dealers do not have a DCFC station, so they are not able to test it for you prior to pickup.
I can't believe that these weren't ramped up for installs heading into 2021.

Big opportunity miss

Agreed, last resort. To be clear, I went through both options before looking into a manual unlock. My guess is it somehow partially disconnected, enough to stop power but not enough to fully unlock. I’m not sure what caused it to ultimatly unlock, but believe it was either when I: (1) cycled the MMe on/off a few times; or (2) pulled/pushed the CCS out/in causing it to re-engage fully so it could then properly unlock.

I wasn’t super worried because it seemed like a “mechanical” lock issue that I knew I could manually disengage if I had to. Really just want folks to understand if similarly situated there is an emergency rip cord that can be pulled.

I am curious what you are referring to. Are you thinking dealers should have DCFC at their locations? That would be a very unreasonable expectation. I doubt they even have electrical service that would allow such a thing. DCFC stations take a TON of power.
