I’ll show my kids the reveal video tonight and see what they think. They are young teenagers and often throw in a different perspective!
I think the Mustang will win in my house, but we’ll see!
Well, the family have spoken. I showed them the reveal video. We unanimously voted for the Mach E. Sorry Hyundai, maybe next time ?

I have a GT reservation as my car history gravitates towards the sportier side, so I won't be jumping ship just yet however ford really need to pull out the stops on the GT with my final decision always being based on the how much extra the performance edition ends up vs what we actually get, if I found it to be not ford performance branding worthy I would have just saved some coin and gone for a premium mach-e trim instead, however based on what I have seen of the Ioniq 5 so far it has moved the mach-e premium down into 3rd choice.
I can't get over the Ioniq 5 looks. The crease in the doors looks like it's been dented. The EV specs and capabilities are outstanding though. Hyundai has knocked it out of the park with the specs. The shorter range is viable because of the insanely fast charging. I am really keen to learn about the Kia version and pricing.

I've gravitated away from the Premium to the GT but depending on options, I'm not sure if it'll work out for the GT. The Koreans could be tempting depending on timing and price.

I thought that until I realised that in the UK at least we currently only have about 12 charging stations in the entire country that could charge it that fast.... That feature is ahead of it's time so I'll be sticking with mw ER RWD Mach E for the next few years :)

Looks are always very subjective, there are pictures of a black Ioniq 5 doing the rounds on the web and with the silver trim bits it looks terrible to me but the all silver version looks fine so it will be another in a long line of vehicles that has a very color sensitive design.

Naturally reserving a GT means I am looking more a for engaging driving experience however if the final specs didn't live up to my expectations, then I tend to switch to the interior cabins comfort and practicality features as a deciding factor. Interior wise on the Ioniq 5 I do not like the huge bezels around the screens as it visually creates a lot of dead space but overall specs wise I feel it has a lot more of the comfort & practicality features that are absent on in the mach-e premium (made all the more disappointing when they are available on other fords at cheaper price points to the mach-e)

There is also the added bonus of it using a 800v architecture, of course only time will tell what actually ends up in on the final version of the for these shores and what gets removed they ditched the heat pump was removed on USA kona electric :(. The interior shots all have ambient rear lighting so if the mach-e is anything to go by I expect that will also magically become absent :(

Should have waited, to think that I have been blinded driving this "terrible" 4.1s 260mi used base dual motor Model S for five years now autopiloting 90% of the time (no, no GPS based, just road following) crisscrossing the country stopping for a 30min Speedway/Wawa meals twice daily at 6-30bay Superchargers.

The Mach-E is an awesome car, first one that really got my attention in a long time.
