That’s crazy. How could it possibly be cost effective to send it back to Mexico? They should be able to fix anything at the dealer.
I wouldnt be surprised if its less cost intensive. If the dealer has 10 mme's and only 1 trained tech and every car has an issue that the engineering team needs to get involved, it could take 2 weeks to fix them all

I happened to check Ford Tracking since my arrival date was 2/27. Apparently my Grabber Blue FE came in Wed. 2/24. Dealer did not contact me which I thought was bizarre. I called and spoke with the sales guy and he told me the car has to go back to the factory. He said Ford contacted them not to sell the car but gave no explanation and he had no details as to why.

I called Ford customer service and they looked up VIN, no details. They made some calls but could get no information other than yes, car had to go back to the factory.

It's odd because my build date was somewhat late. 1/25/21. But I guess there is a major issue. Bad enough it can't be fixed at the dealership. Car is still sitting there so who knows when it will make it back, how long to fix, how long to get back, etc.

I can't wait any longer so another EV it will be for me. Disappointed but what are ya going to do?

This forum has been absolutely great. Lots of awesome people here. Enjoy your MachEs!
This is a bit - a big bit - of a heartbreak - but part of me wants to say hang on for a bit longer until you can get a more realistic time table. On the other hand, I would be v frustrated if I was in your place. So I understand. Not fun when no one can give you a realistic estimate of how much more time they are talking about. Still - I assume you would get a totally up to date Mach e this way. Do let us know how it goes. Best.

My car was built 1-9 with ship of 1-27. I found out yesterday from my dealer that it never left Mexico despite Ford sending me an email that it's on its way on the 27th. VV showed it was released for shipping with expected delivery next week but notes show stop ship. No further details. It sucks your's made it to the dealer just to have to go back.
Yeah. There's something going on for sure.

Mine was built 1/19 but after “awaiting shipment” for a week, it was pulled back to “in production” for another week. It ended up shipping on 2/9. At least thats what the tracker says, but no sign of it in KC yet, so who knows.

I suspect there is something going on, which is why others have had their cars sitting in MX. for bizarre lengths of time. Doesn't sound like it's related for Coral's issues at all or they could fix it at the dealership.
Well thats assuming his issue is even fixed. That's a big assumption.

I can't help but wonder if this is what happened to ours as well. I have no evidence that it actually left the factory, in spite of a 1/8 build date and 1/25 ship date. Delivery window is 2-8 March, but Palsapp never updated. I am now getting worried hearing all of these stories. Trying to remain hopeful.

Wow, so sorry to hear about this, best wishes to you for sure!

I know there are some FEs around you could take off the lot, but without ADM few, and I would be shy of doing so now with your experience. Real bummer, hoping I don't get the same result with my end date also tomorrow, but I see not at dealer yet.

Again, sorry, total dumpster fire. No idea what the problem could be to go all the way back to Mexico. WTF indeed.

I noticed a GB FE on the same truck as mine, wonder if that was yours?

I know of a Grabber Blue FE coming to Austin in late March. It already spent its time in the sun in Mexico if you are interested.

Might explain why mine got lost in the ether as well, I ordered a premium ER RWD, it was built on 1/9. It never shipped, still in Mexico and no ETA provided with the tracker on this site. The ford tracker never switched out of "in production" stage.

Yes. It's been at the dealership for two days. Also says 'Delivered to Dealer'

Geez that blows. Are they willing to pull some strings to get you another FE? I wish you the best no matter what you end up with. After finally driving the MME, I know I would have regretted not getting it.

Can't the dealer or Ford find an FE Grabber Blue cancellation somewhere and bring it to you? That would be the solution, so push on to your dealer and write to the Ford EV Team.

There is a thread in this forum by a dealer who had a car to sell with no markup, if that helps
