The only song anyone should be calibrating thier sound system to is clear. And you'll have plenty of time to adjust the settings before the song is over...

Nah... Not enough bass in this thing. Not enough highs either...

I found y'all a replacement for those of you that don't like your Mach-E radio. you're welcome.

You Used To Be Able To Buy A Radio For Your Roof (jalopnik.com)

Ford Mustang Mach-E Anyone underwhelmed by B&O system... 1614736312092
Ooh, very nice. Is it compatible with the panoramic roof glass? Can my dealer install it for me if I buy from them for 10x markup? Can I have my PPF crew layer something over it so I remember never to touch it or use it or have fingerprints on it? Is the audio quality better suited to Sirius CNN, or would Sirius Stern be best? Can I earn or redeem FordPass points? Can you Google this for me and let me know if it's really dark gray and not actually black?

Please let me know this asap.

I was considering subscribing to tidal for this car since i no longer have time to "purchase" songs. I wouldnt mind upgrading the sound system in this car but I might leave it as is and do it on my next EV. Id have to see the components but I bet you anything theyre nothing spectacular. You cant run a 1kw sound system in a car thats meant to be electrically efficient. Notice that most cars advertise the wattage of their system and Ford didnt in this case. Id be surprised if it surpassed 350w. That 300$ home soundbar that ppl swear by can never compete with a component system but for many its enough.
I'll wait to pass judgement when i get my car. If its not to my satisfaction after some EQ work, i'll see what can be done.
It's actually a 560-watt system lol. And I can totally understand the complaints, however, as some have pointed out - the driver/source (or technically speaking the DAC - digital audio converter) is going to be the biggest factor when dealing with a premium sound system.

So, it is possibly the case that the system isn't lacking - it could be quite the opposite - as in, it could be shining a light on one's inferior sound source that wasn't apparent before on other sound systems.

I have not personally had an opportunity to test out the sound, but as was mentioned before, make sure you are using a wired connection (to make use of the car's DAC versus your phone's) and the highest quality sound file you can muster.. i.e. Tidal or lossless.

I don't believe we have a 3.5mm jack here unfortunately.. plugging in a portable high quality DAC would be the ultimate test of the speaker system.

So, we won't be able to use wired connection in Mach e?

Also, why wired connection eliminates phone's DAC and wireless doesn't? It still uses the same source - the phone. I am total noob in that, sorry - but I like a good sound :)

I'll just be sticking with the native SiriusXM system, mostly because I like the ease of how it's laid out on the screen and for switching station presets. Using an app to stream is messier. (I like to switch stations a lot.)

Plus it'll work on road trips in dead cell zones.

Once I get the balance, tone, and surround settings right, I find it to be pretty good. The only problem now is getting those settings to stick.

My favorite music is exhaust pop!

It’s gonna be weird not having an engine to listen to. Might actually listen to the iPod filled with lossless I keep plugged in.

This system isn't bad at all. A few quirks and it's not wooah!, but it's decent. Yes, I would have paid a couple ectra grand to get a more "pro" system, but it's ok for now. I wish the GT offered a step up option. Not sure I would rip the doors and trim off to upgrade this one. too much risk in rattles after that procedure I'm afraid.

Interested in what you end up with and if it is compatible with the interface, and doesn't ruin the doors and trim clips pulling it apart. Might be worth doing if it all works out I'd be on board..
I will document my efforts an maybe do a DIY post.

yeah why are people being so harsh? So is there an 8-track player in this puppy?
I still have my old eight track player from my first car. It was a under the dash model. I even have a few old 8-track tapes that sounded great as they double tracked. All you folks born after 1970 or so won't even know what I am talking about...double tracking......That and the joy of the player eating tapes every couple of days were what made the 70's so great! A 8-track and two 20 oz Jensen Tri-axials on the back deck......ahhhh...the good old days.

You just need to drill a couple of holes in the glass. My old next door neighbor was a Panasonic distributor and wanted to put one of these in my 79 Mustang Pace Car but the moonroof KO'd that idea.

When you would drive and see nests of tape by the roadside......when cassettes took over the piles were smaller but no less frequent.

I believe the Mustang Mach E has the SiriusXM 360L system? If so, this system has a non-satellite (cellular) streaming component that should have quality similar to the Sirius XM app.

Having spent more time with mine today, it's still a sad muffled and muted system at any volume, not at all what the "Shaker Pro" system in my Mustang was. :( Disappointed given the prestige branding on the speakers.
Is there a chance that there’s something wrong with certain production models? There just seems to be a lot of variation on people‘s perception of what it sounds like.

Again I think the sound system is great. But also everyone this is a vehicle where 60% of the cost is in the battery. Some things are not as great as an Ice vehicle. Cost-cutting until the tech cost catches up.
Unless you want to pay thousands more. Part of the reason why the tesla model 3 sounds way better than the model s or x. The tesla model 3 is really an off-brand put together to save cost. As it would have caused the model 3 to cost too much.

We are at the start of BEV vehicles. There Has to be a give and take at this price point or you will be spending thousands more.
