Nah... Not enough bass in this thing. Not enough highs either...
IMO, the best song for testing the dynamic ranges of a car stereo is the Hell Freezes Over edition of "Hotel California". The highs and lows of the percussion as well as the sounds of the acoustic guitars can say a lot about the system. It has both highs and lows but is not overpowered by a thumping sub. Admittingly, my opinion may be biased toward that genre of music also.

Awesome song, just added it to my playlist (totally forgot about it). I will think about my choice of the test song :) All this talk about about sound system made me upgrade from Amazon Music to Amazon Music HD :)

I understand the cost factor overall, and not everyone is an audiofile, but give us the "upgrade" option please. A number of us would deem it a worth expense, and in fact that is quite common across the industry.

Hilarious, this is the exact song I always use for testing of new radio systems. I use a different song for strictly bass/distortion testing though.

I think the system is fine. Its good, not amazing. I'm happy with it. Just make sure if you're using something like Spotify you have your music quality set to maximum in settings. SiriusXM is absolute trash quality unless streaming from your phone. HD radio varies station to station city to city. Some have an atrocious bitrate some are decent.

This is fords true first BEV. More and more options will come in time. Have to get the main things right. If you hate it that much you can always change the system as people have for years and years in ice cars.

I believe the Mustang Mach E has the SiriusXM 360L system? If so, this system has a non-satellite (cellular) streaming component that should have quality similar to the Sirius XM app.
This would make sense to me. People have remarked that satellite radio quality isn’t very good, but I’ve felt on a number of occasions now that the SiriusXM channels in the Mach-E sound better than the radio.

If the Mach-E is actually streaming the SiriusXM channels, that would bear out my experience. I haven’t said this before here because I felt I must be mishearing or maybe just enjoying the song more or something along those lines on the SiriusXM channel, but this would provide a reasonable explanation for my perception.

true. (no pun intended) but I don't mind the system. I do think it would be a cool option on a GT though. I figure GT customers need a powerful stereo to be heard above the sound of the V8. ?

Again I think the sound system is great. But also everyone this is a vehicle where 60% of the cost is in the battery. Some things are not as great as an Ice vehicle. Cost-cutting until the tech cost catches up.
Unless you want to pay thousands more. Part of the reason why the tesla model 3 sounds way better than the model s or x. The tesla model 3 is really an off-brand put together to save cost. As it would have caused the model 3 to cost too much.

We are at the start of BEV vehicles. There Has to be a give and take at this price point or you will be spending thousands more.
You are so right. I know the very few areas I see where they’ve deliberately taken out cost annoy me, but I also know why. It still annoys me and I can’t wait to catch up. I am still looking forward to getting my car! ?

Mine has 360L and it is enabled, but the quality is still junk and cuts out in my garage - so sounds like it isn't using the cellular and is still using the normal satellite.

This thread got me curious so I did a little looking.

B&O isn't what it used to be, at least when it comes to car systems. Back in 2008 the recession hit them hard and they never really recovered. They sold their automotive audio division to Harmon (a good enough name in audio) that is owned today by Samsung.

There are better than even odds that MME's "high end Danish sound system" was designed and built by the same company that built my dishwasher. They do also supply systems to Aston, Audi, Lamborghini, and Bentley but still it makes me wonder.

Once I get the balance, tone, and surround settings right, I find it to be pretty good. The only problem now is getting those settings to stick.
Did you create a driver profile in vehicle settings and the listening profile under SiriusXM? My settings reset as well but after I created the profiles they stayed.

Aha, do you think the driver profile needs to be saved again after the changes? Not sure I saved an SXM profile.

Are you listening to a streaming channel or a satellite channel? I don’t know much about SiriusXM with 360L, but I suspect it’s a “hybrid” - a satellite receiver for the “traditional” channels, and integrated streaming over cellular for streaming only channels?

By the same logic, my LG SoundBar, “tuned my Meridien” is tuned by the same people who built my washing machine since LG owns Meridien.
