I was about to present my airline ticket and license at the security checkpoint at the Ft. Lauderdale airport. While looking at my wallet I hear, “ I don’t know if I can let you through “. I look up at the TSA guy and ask, “how come?” He motions at my chest with his head and says , “you should be ashamed, that is not a Mustang!” . Turns out , I was wearing a Mach E T-shirt, and he is a “real car” guy and was mad at Ford for “selling out”. I smiled and said that I understood and would love to chat more if we had time. Just wanted to share a fun story. P.S. I am not even getting my car until the summer.

When I picked up my car from the detailer, I overheard a person talking about my MME, saying that "it looks just like any other SUV, like that Audi over there; it shouldn't be a mustang".

It’s a tough pill to swallow for some of the die-hards, but the Mach-e will likely benefit the entire Mustang nameplate in the long run. I too was skeptical at first, but after letting it settle in, the move was brilliant by the Ford marketers.

I think Lee Iacocca would approve of this bold move.

This is a hip, quality, attractive, modern vehicle that will boost the company in a new trajectory. Just like the original mustang did in the 60’s

Also, not sure of the profit margin difference, but how many $50-60k traditional mustang models will they sell this year compared to Mach-e? Heck outside of trucks, this is where customers are talking with their wallets.

Cayenne and Macan are good examples of how those models benefitted Porsche overall; I recall the "not a Porsche" sentiment when the Cayenne was first released.

I think true hardcore mustang enthusiasts have the embarrassment of out of control mustang burnouts on youtube, it would seem a lot of the general public views mustang owners as tools rightly or now
