Yeah, no way on the i-Pace. Just checked inventory around here and they're all $80k+. Even with tax credits that's not even close to what I'm willing to spend.

I wouldn't think they would need to make the suspension any different, but yeah, I think they just went more for the sports car look and handling. Although I betcha with the battery in the floor, the handling would have still been pretty darn good with it all sitting 2" higher. But that would have pushed it even further away from "Mustang" though and more toward "Escape", and they didn't seem to want that.
Are you ready for this? In my area there are brand new 2019 Ipaces going for $20,000 and more off of sticker! So an Ipace that stickers for $80,000 is going for $60,000. Some are going for high 50s! That puts in squarely in the comparably equipped Ford ME price range.

Might be some good deals on used I-Pace as well if you are so inclined. Saw quite a few online with low mileage.

It does make you stop and think, especially with the new 250+ range as the result of the software update. One thing I need clarification on is how they arrived at the over $20,000 price drop. Does that include the $7,500 Fed tax credit? There's nothing on these dealer websites that would tell you that.

Tesla used to be sneaky about how they stated prices and some weren't aware that the price included tax credits.

Actually the Model Y gets 316, not 300. Also, the Model Y charges at Max of 250kW. Just wanted to be sure.

Hopefully the Mach-E gets a better range number when it is released, like the Model Y did. A Mach-E at 325 miles would be awesome!

I just wanna see what miles/kWh people are showing for a nice steady drive at 75 MPH. That's the one I care most about, and will determine what realistic range will be where it usually matters most.

There's way too many assumptions built into official "range" figures that just don't apply where I care about range. (And I think for most people, since around-town range is usually a non-issue when charging at home nightly.)

Interestingly the I-Pace went from an original range of 234 to 246 through a software update. Many owners are actually reporting a range greater than that after the update. Tesla did something similar with one of their BEVs.

This is the most important thing, if it's optimized for this it's far better than being optimized to do well in the EPA test.
