When I first came across the MACH E I fell in love with it. Within an hour of research I placed my order, Premium AWD Extended Range Battery, Carbonized Gray. Went to bed dreaming about it. Dealer calls to confirm and says he has that exact model in red and offered a test drive. Got to the dealership and the car is truly a beauty. After signing some forms the dealer tossed me the key and said, "Have Fun!" Was pleasantly surprised he didn't join me. Just sat in the car for 10 minutes and played with the display, it was impressive and easy to maneuver. Then the bad. As I sat I started to realize it is not a comfortable car. I'm 5'9", 250 and the seat just didn't feel good. My knee was resting up against the center console and became increasingly more uncomfortable. The brakes are very touchy and make smooth stopping difficult. I tried the one pedal but in slowing the car felt like it was lurching back and forth, almost like being on a boat. The car is fast and handles well, definitely favored the unbridled mode. I'm coming from a 2018 Nissan Titan V-8. After my test drive I climbed into my truck and immediately felt the comfort difference. I also realized that I would miss the sound of an engine and feel of shifting through the gears.. Debated over the weekend and decided although I could probably get used to all these tings I really shouldn't have to.

Did you try adjusting the seat so that your knee did not hit? The steering column is telescopic, so you can extend it more and move the seat further back. With the seat back and up your knee should not hit. The brakes were touchy on my car at first, but they feel good now. The economics of a Titan vs an EV must be quite different. My brother has a Titan but he is 6' 4".

I did try several different seat positions which had some impact, but like most people i have a very particular sitting position. And yes very different economics, part of my original allure.

I am 5'10" and lets say a big guy lol! We all have our own preferences! I was the opposite of you-I feel super comfortable in mine. The one pedal is definitely the way to go with this car. Once you get it dialed in, smooth stops are "buttery smooth"!! it takes a bit to get used to. My son is learning to drive and when I let him drive it, I turn off "one pedal" and when I forget to turn it back on I can see where you are coming from. Good luck!!

I'm only 5ft tall, so I found it super comfortable when I took my test drive for a few days. The braking was a little bit of learning curve to get the hang of it, but once you get the feel for them, super smooth stopping. And the hold feature was a really cool thing I'd never experienced before at all and found it to be really helpful at stop lights. I do wish the seat was able to tilt downwards a bit more as I feel like it forces my knees up a bit, so with my short legs makes me need to sit a little closer to the steeling wheel than I would like. I do agree that I will miss revving my engine and shifting gears, but the instant feedback and smooth ride is also a huge perk. Hopping back into my 19 fusion after being in a MMe was so strange and felt like stepping into a dinosaur. I'm sorry it doesn't give you the same comfort as I feel in it. Maybe an electric f150 will be in your future?

Absolutely the brakes are more sensitive than most cars, and 1PD will lurch if you just pull your foot off of the gas. I take it you've never driven more than 1 stick shift vehicle? Every stick I've driven (over half a dozen) has had a different feel and required driving some to get used to that different feel.

I tried 1PD for a couple weeks and adapted to it within a day, but still prefer 2 pedal so I turned it OFF after that 2 weeks. I absolutely adapted to the feel of when the brakes grab, so am able to stop very smoothly.

You probably made the right decision.

I'm about your size. I find my knee rubs the left side (driver's door).
I had another car like this - can't remember which one. It's slightly annoying.
I also find myself sitting to the right on the seat kind'a twisted.

It's not uncomfortable but not sink into the pillow feeling.
The most comfortable new car I sat in was a Kia Stinger GT2, I wish this had seats more like that.

I think situations like this one highlight what a poor decision Ford made in cheapening out on the degrees of power seat adjustments (at least for the driver’s seat) on the Premium. Come on Ford - America is a very diverse nation and Americans come in all shapes and sizes! Nobody’s saying you should put Perfect Position seats with Active Motion massage in the Mustang Mach E, but give them basic adjustments for a $60K car.

I'm happy to be the first to say that a lovely massage while stuck in traffic is an upgrade I would be willing to pay for! ?
