I'm taking a long road trip soon and was wondering about the insulation qualities of the frunk. How long should a load of ice last? How frequently should I add more? Should I just take a regular cooler?

Although Ford likes to show pictures of ice in the Frunk, it is not a cooler. Not only is it not insulated at all, but it actually gets warm in there when the motors are running for a while. Just bring a real cooler.

I think you need to try it out and report back for the rest of us!

Sounds like a business opportunity for somebody to make a "frunk insulated cooler liner insert"...

I took my frunk out yesterday. Not just the dividers but the whole tub. I can verify it is just a simple plastic tub with no insulation. If you want to use it for an actual cooler, be prepared to add ice frequently.

Thanks to all. We'll take a cooler, use the frunk for not-temperature-critical items.

I suggest finding a station that has Level 3 CD*. Should keep you from having range anxiety and leakage..

There is a site that is selling a "frunk liner" for the bottom of the frunk.

And be prepared for the cars driving behind you to be annoyed that your Mustang is peeing at them.
I believe that is called marking its territory! ;)
