I have a small SIR for consideration by Ford, and comments from ya'll might help them put it in the queue.....

I am increasingly annoyed by the rear cargo cover flapping in the wind when I am driving with windows down, and spontaneously disconnecting on one or both sides from the lift gate when if there is any breeze if I have lift gate up and I'm digging around in there... or 'tailgating'. I like a light duty screen, but not so light it flaps, and definitely not when it unhooks.

step 1 might be better 'retaining clips'
step 2 might be slightly more substantial fabric that won't flap when driving w windows down.

Noticed this the first time day (yay, Spring). Annoying.

yeah..... I had parked in the sun, rolled down the windows to vent the hot air, and by the time I got 2 blocks the cargo cover was a flappin and disconnected from the lift-gate, even at 'city' speed.

I found a pretty good solution to fix the Mach E cargo cover flapping in the wind when the windows are open:
  • I used soaker hose (regular garden soaker hose, black, outside diameter 1/2”)
  • Slice the hose down one side and slide it over the front edge of the cargo cover .
  • After it was on the cargo cover I slid a piece of 1/8” steel rod inside it to give it a little extra weight. It’s enough weight to keep the from edge down so the wind doesn’t get under it.
  • Had all the windows open at 65mph and the cover didn’t move

Is anyone else annoyed by the reflection of the white Ford logo from the cargo cover tag in the rear window, or did they just put mine on upside down? I guess I'm not too annoyed, because I haven't bothered to flip it after 4 months. Maybe today's the day.

Yeah just flip it. Takes 20 seconds.

What I found most annoying was the few weeks where I tried driving around with the cargo cover fully removed. At night, when first getting into the vehicle, in my center mirror I'd see the cargo area LED light reflecting off of the rear window.

Yeah a stupid small thing that goes away once you're driving, but I still found it pretty annoying.

Also, I learned that while the cargo cover fits below the floor board, it's a fairly tight fit. I accidentally snapped off one of the flimsy plastic clips of the cargo cover. Luckily I found the piece that escaped within the trunk, and was able to snap it all back together without any harm. I reinstalled the cover. ?‍♀

I was annoyed by the flapping when driving w windows down, but even more when the plastic clip came un-snapped and fell off the cover.... until I put some clear silicon (LEXAR) inside the clip and snapped that sucker on for good.

I really don't want to spend hundreds on a retractable cover, but I would like to hide my cargo from prying eyes if I'm parked somewhere with anything of value in the back.

Thank you!!! This has been driving me nuts as I often have the windows rolled down. I was starting to think of elastic or something like that...but I did not like any solution. Your "life hack" did the trick!

In my case, I could not find any soaker hose (without purchase of a 50' hose) so I purchased a 3/8" fuel line and a 1/8" metal rod. It seems to have given enough heft to the cover to keep it from flopping around.

(And yes I flipped the cover over in the first 2 days I had the car. The floating Ford logo was distracting.)

Impressive. Seems like FMoC could have done something similar for a buck or two each.
