I like the auto-lock feature when I am 'out', and I like the chirp to verify... when I am out.

I'm growing to HATE the auto-lock and chirp when parking in my garage! I walk in/out of my garage many times per day... and really hate the MME locking/chirping/un-locking on approach as I walk by.

The SIR I'd love is to set a 'safe' location by GPS with some small radius like 100', that would disable auto-lock & chirp on walkaway.... no more beeping/locking/un-locking on approach needed inside my garage PLEASE!

For all you that agree.... please 'like' this, and reply to add your 'vote' in case Ford is watching....

you don't need to make a half dozen threads for each of your gripes.
Trying to condense to one thread per issue so we can increase the count and let Ford know support level..... and track eventual response per issue.

So....how so you feel about this specific issue?

I turned off autolock chirp on day 2; I am confident the car locks itself as I walk away, and I can turn around and easily see the mirrors folded so I know it locked. The car waking up when I get close to it when I don't intend to drive it doesn't bother me one bit; conversely there are other threads where people complain vehemently that their car doesn't greet them when parked in their garage. Once you understand that it has to do with the proximity of your phone/fob it is really no big deal.

It sounds like "First world problems" to me, and if that's the worst thing to complain about then life is pretty damn good.

chirping IN your home garage is not the most serious problem for sure.... but it's more serious when it wakes a kid up whose bedroom is on the other side of the wall, or your wife is starled and drops a bag of groceries walking by the front of the car when you come out to the garage to 'help' .

Wouldn't it be nice to tell your car where 'home' is, and it doesn't have to lock and chirp?!

fair enough, but you can disable autolock chirp.

I know I can disable chirp 'all the time'.
I'd love to disable auto-lock & chirp ONLY in my garage..... that's the point.

If it doesn't bother anybody else, then the thread will die a natural death with no 'likes' or comments. If lots of other people think this would be a nice enhancement, then maybe Ford will add it as an upgrade someday.

I know I like this 'safe place' feature on my phone.... setting it to NOT lock the screen when I am home is pretty nice.

I hate having a car honk every time it locks. That was one of the first things I turned off and have researched online how to get rid of it in earlier cars. No need for an SIR for me. Ford gave me an easy off switch.

FWIW - I agree with OP. I have come back to find my car unlocked while out and about. I routinely look back to see if it locked now. I wish the chirp were an artificial chime or beep as well.

exactly.... I like the chirp and auto-lock everywhere BUT my garage.
The ultimate solution is flexibility to identify your 'home' where no lock or chirp is needed.
