Are you sure? I'm pretty sure the pedestrian sound still plays when stopped as long as you leave it in Drive.
I don't think it plays while stopped but I could be wrong. The manual says it plays while moving and there is a signal from the speed sensor to activate. Here is a snip from the shop manual....

Pedestrian Alert System

The pedestrian alert system provides an audible alert when the vehicle is moving in forward or reverse between 0-30 km/h (0-18 mph).

it feels like the front pedestrian signal is a tightrope act a bit, because we know there's one at low speed but not when stopped, probably because it would be really unworkable to have it every time you stopped at a light or stop sign... but clearly something would be nice.

might be an excuse for Ford to add fake V8 sounds. they licensed the Harley Davidson name for an F-150 trim, maybe they can get the ??? sound. ?

(I thought the F-150 actually had licensed that sound somehow but I'm not finding evidence now.)
My car makes a lot of noise while stopped....but I don't think it is the pedestrian system. The HVAC system makes some noise.....especially here in AZ where our A/C compressors are usually running all the time. Plus....the B&O system is very audible from outside car even when the doors are closed. :)

I think the reason for it even when you are stopped and just in gear is because it is also a audible way for people around the car to know "HEY, this car can move at a moments notice" It is a way so that should at least hear the car when it ready to move.

I think that is very true for backing up. That noise comes on as soon as Reverse is selected. Not sure the speakers make any noise while in D until the vehicle start to move though.....?? ?

Might have to test it out and see what I hear. That forward sound is barely audible to me while in the car. That reverse sound can wake the dead....

Granted it was only a brief test drive, but I didn't notice either sound. Maybe I've just been on enough construction sites to block out the back up alarm. ?

Are you guys muting the both speakers or just the one up front?
I was hoping there would be a separate speaker in the back for the backup beeping, but alas, the one up front plays both sounds.

The noise may be there but over city noise and distracted pedestrians never loud enough.
Now that its getting warmer it'll be windows down and really test SiriusXM over the B&O's. That will get them aware of the car.
And by warmer I mean 50 deg. F in Western Canada.

First....I can't help it, but the low speed pedestrian noise and backup sound are really quite annoying. A neighbor remarked to me also "I thought electric cars were silent, that thing makes more noise than my truck". I have to agree. The noise is much more intrusive than the warning noises on my 2019 Leaf.

I am really really contemplating about putting the car up on ramps and finding and disconnecting that speaker that makes the noises. I guess it is a law that they have to put those on the vehicle but I cannot find where it is a law that I have to keep them enables. Wish there was a switch to turn them off.

Second...No matter what I set it to charge to it is charging to 100% each time...guess there is something I have not figured out.

Love the way the car drives even if the tires are too skinny......
I'm waiting for my car, in the mean time I've driven a 2006 Toyota Highlander for 16 years and the looks I get backing up are evil. Or just sitting there, putting the car in to drive or reverse and someone is standing there and they jump. Not my bad! I am super careful looking ALL around before I go in any direction because the car is silent. The first couple of years I got it, Hybrids were new, but today? No way, pedestrian beware, EVs and Hyrbrids are way too common to use the quiet as an excuse anymore. Pay attention.
