Has anyone noticed if the LVB drainage during DCFC is related to the time on the FC. Specifically, my Mach fits the criteria for the TSB except #3 BUT the longest time I been on a DCFC is 20 minutes during periods just to learn the chargers. Planning on first long trip soon with longer and frequent DCFC sessions and am wondering if I should take car in for the TSB updates even though would have to $ out of pocket since on 2/3 criteria met. Hate to spend $$ if no problem but also not excited about having to take frunk apart in Walmart parking lot. Grateful for any thoughts. Thanks.
Question if I have only used the mobile level 2 charger that came with the car I will not know if I have this issue?
The people that have experienced this issue have had it when L2 charging, not DCFC. I don't think the car would spend enough time at a DCFC for the 12v battery to die.

"high voltage" means it's charging the high voltage battery, not DC Fast Charging. Like someone else said, you're not going to be at a DCFC session long enough to run your 12v battery dead

There's nothing about that charger that would mean you wouldn't encounter this issue if your car is affected

Thanks for the responses.
Just so I understand correctly: the LVB drainage issues are occurring only with Level 2 charging? I assume charging on 120v at home is not considered “high voltage charging” and would not trigger the LVB drainage? I have used this method exclusively at home with no LVB problems. Since my car has never been on a Level2 charger and since I don’t know if it is vulnerable to a LVB drain issue, safest course of action for trip would be to avoid Level 2 chargers and wait for OTA update in future??? Thanks again to all.

High voltage charge refers to the high voltage battery. Therefore the problem is most likely to show up if you were doing an overnight Level 2 charge. My plan is to take my Booster battery pack in with me when doing that charging away from home.

If I were you, I would call my dealer and ask if they are willing to check/perform the programing update. Give them the TSB number so they know what you're talking about. As long as they are not super busy I think you have a pretty good chance of them agreeing to do it.

There is nothing in the TSB that suggests the issue is limited to Level 2 charging. I presume affected vehicles would demonstrate symptoms on Level 1 and perhaps even DCFC charging. If you charging now without issues then it's reasonably safe to assume your car isn't affected by this concern.

If you want to make sure. Then measure the voltage of your LVB before and after a charge event.

The news articles say this 12 v battery problem affects vehicles manufactured before February 3. How can I check whether my MME was built before Feb 3?

Sticker on door sill will tell you the manufacture month and year. To find the exact day it has to be run through OASIS. Send me your VIN and I can get a build date for you.

Just to clarify, it only affects SOME vehicles manufactured before February 3.

Pro tip for builds before Feb 3 that haven't received an OTA: Don't charge to 100%, then plug in the charger again while still at 100% charge.
Does that imply there was something in the OTA that addresses this?

No, the only OTA update we have gotten does NOT address this issue.
