I am thinking an interactive map will be released closer to/at the time the software is to be delivered.
They need to make sure they can paint all the roads blue first.

Well the other part that is missing is that this is level 2 autonomy, which requires the driver of the vehicle (which is still the human being sitting in the front left seat) be prepared to take control at any moment. Being able to take your hands off the wheel doesn't mean you get to use them to eat a four course meal in your lap, or play video games, or put together a Lego set or a puzzle. Your hands must be close by and prepared to grab the wheel immediately
Maybe not a four course meal, but the cartoon from Ford does show the guy chugging a beverage ?

There is quite literally no requirement that any of us use the highest degree of automation available.

You are allowed to do the following on the Mach-e:

Turn off
BlueCruise
Intelligent Cruise Control
Adaptive Cruise Control
Cruise Control
Lane Keeping
Lane Centering
Auto Wipers
1 Pedal Driving
Reverse Braking Assist
Hill Start Assist
Auto Hold
Speed Sign Recognition
Pre-Collision Assist
Blind Spot Information System
Cross-Traffic Alert

On the other hand, you are required to do the following on the Mach-e:

Turn on
Nothing except the car. (It has a start button).

If you are not comfortable with any particular feature (or just don't feel like using it), for any or no reason whatsoever, turn it off. We all know how to drive, drive your mach-e in the manner you're most comfortable with. If you're comfortable with BlueCruise on a divided highway, go for it.

Otherwise, just drive!
You forgot stability control. You can’t turn that off

Well, lately there has been a strong tendency by many to treat this forum as one's own complaint department/therapist, often times in an adolescent and/or entitled manner. Eventually others tire of it, and offer sarcastic or glib responses.

Of course the replies I expect to get to the above is "well then don't read what I post", to which I will reciprocate in advance.
You make a good point. Part of the problem is that different people have different communication styles and typing doesn’t always allow the nuances of those styles to come out. What a person may mean as a harmless, off-handed joke that would be totally glossed over in person, could come across as annoying pettiness in typing. I try to use a lot of emoticons when I’m not being serious to make up for that limitation.

Does anyone know if Ford has a lidar sensor hiding in the vehicle (I’m thinking of something like Luminar). I doubt it, but it WOULD be pretty cool.

No LIDAR.

Both lists contain items which various people here have complained about which have, apparently, ruined the “driving experience.” I don’t recall stability control being on anyone’s “I hate it list.” Doesn’t mean it’s not though.

The actual point was and is — all of that stuff is optional. You don’t have to use it. There’s no requirement to always use the highest degree of automation available.

It’s stuff we paid for, so it ought to work reliably.... And I’m not specifically saying any of the stuff you listed doesn’t work, btw, but just making a general point that the “if you don’t like it, don’t use it” argument kinda misses the mark.

I’m sorry - I forgot my usual disclaimer emoticon. I was just kidding about that. Some of the reviewers who are very good drivers have bemoaned the fact that you can’t turn off stability control. Apparently it makes it harder to drift the car.

In my defense, it does appear a few people picked up on it though ?

Can still be done quite nicely. Drifting - and the complaining.

I missed those reviews apparently.

I also don't drift, so if I had heard it I'd likely have stopped it right then: I had a friend nearly killed while minding her own business riding her bicycle when people drifting down a road hit her.

Yes, it should. and it does. Just like BlueCruise will. Will it be perfect? Nope, nothing is. But it will work.
