This may be pertinent from the owner's manual (note the note at the bottom):
Ford Mustang Mach-E Cancelled! Intelligent Cruise Control That Is! 1619921781175

I've seen the lane keeping system cancel autmatically (like some people mentioned above) and, also like mentioned above, it turned back on very shortly afterwards.

I've never seen it do what the Note above says: turn off until the next key cycle.

Ok, that’s pretty close. But there was no tone accompanying the “Cancelled” message and (strangely for Pennsylvania) this was a stretch of road in very good condition with highly visible lane markings. Also, I wasn’t goofing off and trying to show friends “hey look, I can keep my hands off the wheel!” Or driving with my knees, feet, tongue, etc. just my hands at my new normal of mine-three.

I think I’ll just chalk it up to some kind of odd one-off and move on, since what I observed pretty closely matches the behavior described there. Thanks for digging that up!
It would be nice if the Owner’s Manual had pictures of the various icons (such as the blue bubble) and not just the idiot light icons and descriptions.

Last night, I was driving on a 4 lane divided limited access highway, doing 65 MPH with intelligent cruise control on. The Blue Bubble of happiness was surrounding my car, and the car was gently steering along with my hands at 9 and 3, gently applying torque, as necessary to make sure it was centered where I wanted it in the lane. This was a well-striped road, and the weather was clear. Little to no other traffic. All of a sudden, the bubble turns bright orange, and the hands on steering wheel icon turns to the text “Cancelled”. The system then reverts to regular adaptive cruise control with lane keeping. I was unable to get intelligent cruise control to re-engage. When I returned home later that night, intelligent cruise control worked without any problems.
has anyone else seen this? Any idea what may have happened?
I had the same thing happen to me.

That’s not what I saw. Were you seeing the blue bubble before that message though?

Yes, the blue bubble was showing, and when it canceled this message appeared. After the message appeared I could not use the cruise control until I restarted the car later in the day.

That has happened to me as well, when it was snowing and the radar sensor got blocked with snow. Though based on your photo it looks like that's not at all what happened to you

I noticed mine does not like going over hills. Recycle cruise on and off plus lane centering.

Ditto! I'm still learning the nuances, always have my hand around the steering wheel, like fingers to thumb with wheel in between where I can close my hand immediately.

Remember, you're responsible for driving and steering, not the car. The car is only assisting you with keeping the car in the lane. It's not doing that on your behalf :D :D It's backing you up. Think of it like lifting weights (something I'm bad at:D) It's your job to lift the weights, not your spotters job. Your spotter is only there in case you get into trouble. Lane Keeping and Lane Centering are the same thing. They're your spotter. It's a clever party trick that you can let go of the steering wheel for a moment, but the car systems aren't designed for that.

This has happened to me a few times. I had the lane assist on high, I changed to medium and it's not happened again so far.
It's definitely a strange one as I couldn't seem to find any correlation in the environmental situations for the "cancel" pop up.

More detail on this bug:

I was driving today and got the "cancelled" message. After a while though I noticed the blue bubble never came back.

Intelligent cruise and lane keep (the green lines) were still working fine, but no blue bubble.

So with intelligent cruise still going I toggled lane keeping off and back on and I got a warning message with chimes that said "Lane Centering assist not available". I tried multiple times with the same result.

Kind of odd that it called out lane centering specially. Intelligent cruise, speed limit signs, and green line lane keeping were all still functioning though.

Perhaps you “violated” some rule (like taking your hands off the steering wheel too many times, so the system put you in “time out” until the next ignition cycle?

It has happened to me twice for no apparent reasons. Both times restarting car resolved. I have a felling its a software issue with to many external inputs, gets confused and shuts down.

Yeah I wondered if that's what that message and behavior are supposed to be for.

If that's the case though, it definitely was a bug. Cause the system had been running for under 5 minutes when it cancelled
