In today’s episode of Murse-In-Airy’s DIY Detail and Vinyl Shop;
I finally received the the stripes for the Wife’s car yesterday. So I started by detailing her car. Washed, Clayed, Polished, Isopropyl wipe, and two coats of Ceramic from Chemical Guys. Before and After Below:

Since I didn’t put the same effort into detailing hers (she doesn’t care as much and won’t take care of it anyway) I finished early and had time.
Along with her stripes, yesterday’s shipment included some more stripes for mine.

WHAT?
MORE STRIPES you say?!?!?

Ladies and Gentlmen, let me introduce you to SIDE STRIPES:

This should really het the “Not a Mustang” crowd going. ?

Ford Mustang Mach-E Side stripes? Why Not 1C1AAA87-533A-426E-B095-388B7CAD4DF7

Had to remove the badging as going below the badging out the stripe right through the faux lower door seam. And going above the badging was just too high for side stripes. So after the stripes were laid I put the badging back on.
Again, pretty proud of how this came out considering last month I had never detailed a car nor touched a piece of vinyl. The side
Stripe kit was for a 2015 mustang coupe so I had to make a splice between two pieces in the middle of the back door. Again CKWraps YouTube channel showed me what to do and the seam is invisible unless you know where to look.
I do believe my car is done now. On to hers.

Looks great, but apparently all this work leads to hair loss. ??

That’s my real job that causes that. And kids. I generally blame kids.

Seriously that looks fantastic! How about a side business of hooking some of us up with your talents. I bet you would have a lot of work!
Well, I live in a remote corner of the US so you probably don’t want to bring me your car. By the time you got it here, you’d save money having a professional do it.
And I work 80+ hours a week at my real job, so scheduling wouldn’t work out at all. But I appreciate that you think that highly of my attempts. ?

The stripes look really good.

The best part is you took off the Mach-E4X and re-applied it--I bet it will never come off now (unlike some of us where the 1st car wash ripped the underline right off).

I did attach it better than original. But I probably still need to be careful while washing.

Good job! I can really see the difference of the before and after shots of her car (and by that I mean the ceramic coating you applied). I tried to use a "pseudo" ceramic coating with far less positive results. You did yours the way I saw it on the numerous U-Tube videos I watched. The prep work is the key to a good result as I found out. You got fantastic results and it shows how correct preparation makes all the difference. I found out later that my car has numerous water spots which I should have noticed since they are visible in indirect and fluorescent lighting (I think the water spots happened when the car was either stored prior to shipping or stored after shipping and when I took delivery, the car was shined up and looked beautiful to the naked eye). I'd like to strip off the existing coating I have (Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions) and use a water spot removal spray I have since purchased but I can't find a good product to remove the Turtle Wax. The water spots were really bad on the glass roof and since I didn't use the ceramic coating up there I was able to remove them with the water spot removal spray by Mequiars that I bought. I also didn't clay bar the new finish as I thought since it was new I didn't have to do it; WRONG! I did use isopropyl alcohol wipe after washing the car and before I applied the Turtle Wax. The stripes on your car look good and I love the "Mustang" imprinted on them! Again great job and I'd like to make an appointment with you for my car! ;)

Thank You. My car is black so it had obvious micro scratches and swirl marks in addition to those water spots. For mine I did the wash, clay, iron-off, buffed with correcting compound, then two rounds of polishing compound, before using The Last Coat 2 as a ceramic.

So while the wife’s car looks good, I kinda feel like I half-assed it.
For your’s, I believe Chemical Guys has a product to strip the Turtle Wax and let you start over. Good luck of you decide to try it.

Thank you for the advice . I've never used a mechanical buffer and would be afraid I'd damage the paint finish on the car. Could I hand buff instead?
