Anybody know if there are any downsides to deleting and reinstalling FordPass? Is that gonna screw up PAAK or anything else?

I’m considering doing this because my FordPass doesn’t even tell me when the car is plugged in or charging. It used to, but that disappeared over a month ago. And apparently it still “works” for some iOS users.

I keep hoping it will return with every new release, but not so far.

I did that once without issue. I’ve seen people report that deleting your PAAK profile can cause an issue in being unable to add a new one, but I haven’t seen people report problems in terms of just deleting the app and reinstalling it.

EDIT: Tried deleting my app again and it did make me set up PAAK again, not sure if this changed or if I am misremembering it ever working like this. So deleting the app is like deleting your PAAK profile since the app will make you redo it when you reinstall the app.

It's no longer crashing 50% of the time when opening, so that's good.
Previous releases ran okay for me, other than battery drain and poor layout choices.

This version is causing OS notifications quite a bit, even while I'm trying to reply to this post.

And when I'm running the app, it freezes for a few seconds while waiting for it to receive its backend data.

Ok, I did it. Deleted the app and reinstalled it. This requires me to set up PAAK again which was a slight pain. If you ever have to delete the app, here’s the proper way to re-set up PAAK:
1. Go to you car and open Settings - General - Reset - FordPass Connect Reset - Phone as a Key Reset
2. Confirm that you want to delete existing keys.
3. After that is done, open your FordPass app and click the wording on the home page to set up PAAK. Follow those steps. At some point your vehicle infotainment screen will pop up a guide for you to set up your vehicle backup password. Do that, too.

After going through that, I had PAAK working again.

Tonight I’ll plug in and see if any of the status updates have been restored.

I just tried deleting the app again too and you are right, it does ask you to set up PAAK again, which makes deleting the app functionally the same thing as deleting your PAAK profile. I don't know if I am misremembering or if this changed, I'll put an edit on my original post.

The problem arises if, after reinstalling the app, you try setting up PAAK again in the app without first going to your car and deleting the existing key using the steps detailed above.

FordPass 3.23.0 dropped today. I haven’t noticed anything different yet.
Maybe it is just me but I have been using just PAAK for a couple of weeks now and I noticed it being a lot more stable. It takes a couple of seconds at times but most of the time the lights come on when I walk up and the push buttom works right away.I would say it went from 50% to working about 90%, enough that I have not used the keyfob for at least three weeks. I only got in trouble one time on bethel island jetskiing. When I got back to the car I had not internet where I parked. I turned on/off airplane mode and then evertyhgin worked fine. But that was the only time.
