I'm not doubting you, and it certainly seems fair, but how did you find out about the process? One issue is obviously "how long" someone can hang around to convert a reservation and have that timestamp slot them into the queue.

There has to be some kind of drop-dead-date to hold an unconverted reservation in line. My guess is that it's whatever the production lead time is. We don't know what that is for the Mach-E, 8, 6, 12 weeks once production starts?
We do know that some reservations have to be converted by 08/01 or 08/31. Def First Editions. Not sure about premiums.

Sure hope that holds true. Fingers crossed. Are you hearing anything about the ability to pick up a FE if you have a premium?
I have. It's conflicting information, so I'm hoping it gets updated. One source says 'this option is not available'. The other says 'this option is not available at this time'.
Soooooooo........... maybe?? Others have said they help line told them it would be an option, I guess we'll see.

So, doing a whole lot of guessing, we can assume that proper production will start sometime in August. then.

Assuming a conservative 8-12 week production lead time, we can expect vehicles hitting the streets in maybe late October. That jives with other guesses and what Ford's been hinting at.

LOL, you must be new here. ;):D I'll let the others on here vouch that I'm legit.

Others have already posted that Ford will honor reservations for FE until July 31 and non-GT holders have until Dec 31st. When production sequencing starts the schedulers will prioritize orders by timestamp. Then once they start planning the sequence of the next batch they'll prioritize that next batch by timestamps, so on and so forth. So as new orders come in the will go into the next available production run and sequenced by timestamp.

:) I am absolutely new. My question wasn't to doubt or challenge. It was to learn.

You've helped with that. Thank you.

I would guess many of us like myself will not hear anything until the 30th. Still no evidence that my small town dealership has installed Level 2 chargers which is another requirement.
Pre-COVID the chargers were not required to be installed until September. They've got some time.

Are these vehicles for the dealership? I having trouble with the concept of an "order" made without your signature/electronic signature or other indicating you are in agreement with this action.
The vehicle is my personal vehicle. I don’t work for a dealer. I had to sign and date the order today. The dealer had my reservation number from when I reserved through them.

I had been told by the Mach E helpline that once a reservation was placed through a dealer, I couldn’t convert to the consumer online web system (aka WBDO). Turns out that seems to have been in my favor by a few days.

Yeah, I have heard it both ways too, so not surprised you have as well. The help line told me FCFS, but someone at Ford told me none would be available even if there are cancellations.

I have called the line three times and two people said they were not available, while one said maybe, but they haven't been given any information as yet.

Where is this taking place? I have not received anything further from Ford.
It was confusing for me until I dug into it. People could reserve online, or through a dealer. People who reserved through a dealer could start asking their dealer to convert their reservation to a formal order starting this week.

People reserving online have to convert to an order online, and that process I think, opens up before the end of June. Others have more knowledge on this.

On the Ford.com website when viewing the reservation details, there is a tiny "177" next to the $500 deposit paid notation. Click on it and a message reads "Reservation does not guarantee vehicle delivery nor priority for ordering a vehicle."

So, I would presume that your order will be processed in order received at the assembly plant since it is a Premium model which we believe are being assembled first. The FE is a premium model so by default it is included in the previous statement...
Remember, there is still the question if the FEs come off the line before the other Premiums. That was stated at some point in the early promotional material. However, I must say, letting them practice on a few thousand dealer demos before getting to my Grabber Blue beauty would be nice!

Agree that's a bummer for you. You really were early on, although my number was pretty low -- 3,055, if I'm decoding the sequence correctly.
So, if you have a 3xxx number, that means yours was one of the early dealer reservations that went in before the reservation system was opened to the rest of us.

All I can say is that my order is in and I have a confirmed order number. Time will tell what the production schedulers do to me. I'm just hoping for delivery before this (2020!) Christmas!
