Got my update this morning. Took about 3 hours. I have not noticed any difference. ?
Remember, there are two components -- your car and your phone.

I noticed in the last message from Ford that they mentioned letting the app have location permissions at all times (not just when active). I made that change, too early to tell if it improves anything for me. At this point I plan to wait for the OTA to fix my PAAK, so I don't have the car update yet. That may have been an Android only thing too, I don't know.

Has anyone else had the issue where PAAK was working reasonably well, then got the update and now doesn’t work at all?

cause that happened to me today. Working pretty good then said it updates and today boom, key not detected. Taking mine in Monday.
Same for me. Have a new Samsung A52 (which I bought because my 3 year old Huawei phone was not supported). PAAK was working 100% until I installed the latest FordPass update 3.24.0

This may have been asked, but does anyone know if there is a way to see what SSMs, updates, etc. the car has installed - somewhere in the settings?

The description doesn't sound like it will fix my problem. Which is, that PaaK has NEVER worked. Not after hours on the phone support. Hours on chat support. Several times of going to the dealership. Nothing but broken promises of calling me back, and not ONCE have they. They have made zero effort to fix something, that was promised. Been over 4 months.

Yeah I'll take it down there again, it won't work, again. And again they'll give me some hollow promise of calling me back with a solution. I'm starting to get bitter about this.
Your case just looks like mine. I have my car now for a bit over 3 months and I had a Samsung A8 running on Android 9 and PaaK never worked on that phone dewspite visits to the dealer, calls to Ford Pass support from the dealer and or myself until the last time on on 7th of May when then a tech from FP was suppose to call me back but they never did so far. So the dealer had tried Paak with one of their tech phone and everything worked fine so I finally upgraded my phone for a Samsung S20 FE running Android 11 and now it's working most of the time, I will also check with the dealer what exactly they did on my car( they forgot to leave me the invoice paper with the details) has I was there thursday so I wonder if they did that 21B36 update for pack cause it seems better since then. I was talking with my son in law yesterday about these phone type and version issues has he work for a Kia dealer and they also have similar problems with some brand of phone or version of OS also with their phone app except them they mostly have problems with Apple phones and less with Android phones. My actual version of FP is 3.24 loaded on tuesday.

Has anyone got the "Mobile Repair" mentioned in the message? Do they have the OBD port on the mobile service? My dealer said they don't do Mobile. Do you call Ford?

So I had this update applied this morning. After a brief moment of panic when the overconfident dealer technician, (I warned him to talk to factory first) success fully bricked the car, flashing lights, horns beeping and 4 folks running around and all, they managed to get the software loaded in there, at least that's his claim.

Unfortunately, I can also confirm my PaaK is completely broken now. After re-setting up the PaaK on my phone, the back up start code will not activate. The doors will not lock unlock and the start does not work at all now. It says there are errors. Both on car and in phone.

So I'm down to one key. Which is super inconvenient as I have been selling off my cars. Lots of key juggling ongoing, with unhappy wife.

This one is a disastrous sequence folks, stay away.... ☠☠

Yeah...damn that sucks. I just deleted the key for my PaaK and will just use fob until they fix this with the auto update. Sick of the phone battery drain and constant errors. They should give us a second fob since they implemented unreliable software.

How urgent do people rate this update? I just got the 2 SSMs done and my Paak is working good enough for now. I'm thinking I defer this until I have a few issues to address and go in one time only.

You're right, but I called them anyway to see if they had any idea. They didn't really know for sure, but they said the FSA is showing up for my VIN, so it's likely that this software is newer than what was applied last month as an SSM, so I should bring it in to have it done.

I tried to make an appointment and told them that I would need a loaner vehicle. They said that since this is considered a recall, Ford would not provide a free rental. I told them that I have a Ford ESP that covers first day rentals, so a loaner should be covered. They said that's only for warranty items, not recalls. Huh? Potential safety issues that are critical enough to warrant a recall don't qualify for a free loaner, but any old warranty issue (like an SSM or TSB) does? They said they'd have the service manager call me back to better explain it. If they stick to this ridiculousness, I'll just pick one of the SSMs that hasn't been done yet and tell them to do that under warranty and give me a loaner. And while they have it, go ahead and do the recall too. This is stupid.

@Ford Motor Company, can you comment as to whether this is correct?
My dealership also said a loaner wasn't covered for this. I'm used to always being able to get a loaner while the car is under warranty. They said they'll cover an Uber within 12 miles.

This is good to know. However, what about those of us who had SSM 49730 done? My dealer told me yesterday that the mechanic working on my car said the update to RFA module was done and 21B36 found no update for RFA module at this time. He also checked Oasis for updated information and found RFA module had been updated on May 18, 2021 which was the date they performed SSM 49730 on my car. The dealer told me that SSM 49730 was CSP 21B36. I don't know if he is correct in this or not but they didn't do anything yesterday because the RFA module update had already been done. I am totally confused at this point and don't know who to believe on this and whether additional work needs to be done on 21B36 or not. Can you tell me if the Field Engineer said that CSP 21B36 is the same as SSM 49730? Thanks.

I don't know, but would guess that CSP 21B36 combined the previous SSM

I am thinking CSP 21B36 may have fixed some things, but FordPass 3.24 may have introduced some odd new problems. I am noticing that battery % display doesn't update, but est range miles does ?!

I just hope the folks within Ford are paying attention. I just spent 3 hours resetting everything clear all my keys, deleted my vehicle and built it back from scratch. Finally my lock ulock is working but the car PaaK will not start now. And any attempt to enter the back up code throws a system error. I have restarted Sync 4, reinstalled Ford Pass no dice.

I'm just baffled Ford would release this non-serious frankenstein software that actually breaks the car. Ordinarily I would take it back to the dealer but I suspect they don't have a clue either. A second key fob is now on its way. The entire PaaK team should have had to faced the nightmare I dealt with today. They would take this a bit more seriously.

I was told all the codes have to be reset after the upgrade. Did you try that?
