if you can get tail lights, even just temp trailer lights? it looks 'drivable' while you wait for parts?
Well,
I will definitely think about trying to see if that works.

I am sorry for your pain. I am in much the same boat. Someone rear-ended yours me 2 weeks ago although my bumper is not as damaged.
Hope yours gets fixed quickly.

Could the dealership be mistaken as to parts availability? If I were in your shoes, I would try to find out what specific part(s) will take that long, then ask other dealerships about ordering timeline on them.
Good thought!

If the other driver is at fault, wouldn't rental be covered by his insurance?
Apparently not, or at least that is what my broker told me. It irrates me that no one seems to be advocating for me, not the insurance company or my insurance broker.

That doesn't sound right. Admittedly a long time ago, but when I got hit by a guy running a red light, his insurance covered everything including rental. The rental lasted over 4 months, while Mitsubishi was waiting for a part to arrive from Japan. The rental company did insist that I switch cars every 30 days.

Well,
I will definitely think about trying to see if that works.
It doesn't appear the lights were in the impact zone. I know they take them off for appraisal band estimate to see hidden damage, but if they weren't wrecked, I would put them on and drive it. Many trucks drive around with no bumper and just a "Flat panel where the bump would be.

If Ford can drive around roadways with the vehicle rear end like this, you should be able to as well.

Search diminished value on here and you'll get lots of good info.

My understanding is that the brakes lights are activated by a certain level of deceleration (G force). There is no physical switch when using one pedal driving. There is a physical switch on the brake pedal. Thus if you are a one pedal driver and never use brakes like me then the following driver is alerted because you are decelerating at a certain level. Much better than downshifting a manual and then have someone hot you from behind because there was no brake light activated by brake pedal.

I was rear-ended about 2 weeks ago, and the other driver hit so hard it deployed their airbags. I am really mad and disgusted as one of the parts for my rear bumper is not coming in until Nov 30 and the other Dec 31st.
This is a brand new model, and they are manufacturing them in Mexico. So I get this whole pandemic thing about chips, but this is not about chips, these are parts!
What is Ford doing making cars and not being able to supply chips???
My insurance money for my junky rental will run out long before the car is fixed. It will be depreciated because of the accident when I get it back, as well as they probably will start coming out with the 2022's.
I owned the car for about a month before this happened.
Someone mentioned filing a diminished value claim, how do you do that and with whom do you file it?
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Very sorry to hear about your collision and parts availability situation. When I was told the part I needed to replace the charge door assembly I damaged was on back-ordered and they couldn't give me an availability date, I started calling all the dealers in my area. Most of them gave me the same story except for one. This helpful parts person did a nationwide search of all the dealers and informed me that one dealer in Michigan (I'm in CA) had 1 in stock. I called the Michigan dealer and arranged to have the part delivered. Not sure if this approach would work in your case but if it hasn't already been tried, it might be worth a shot.

So very sorry you had this happen. Isn’t the other drivers insurance paying your claim and paying for your rental? Is Missouri a no fault State? If not, you are entitled to a rental paid by the offender. It is a loss to you. I would make a stink if it.
