Three days now since requested a change in dealer at help line. So much for the "done in a day or so" that I was told by the rep. Just sitting here drumming my fingers until I can convert my reservation. If it is not done in five days I am going to be a little irritated.
4th of July weekend is coming up. I wouldn't expect too much. Really doesn't matter it terms of delivery as long as we get our orders in July. I want it to be done already but try not to let these things outside of our control get us wild up. I see it as it gives us more time to flip flop all the possible options...Gray, Red, Blue...Black interior...no white...ahhhhh

DAY 5....here we go. Looking forward to seeing some replies that people received confirmation today. Highly doubt it, but it would be a nice treat before the weekend.

I changed my dealer on Monday. 5 days later (today) and nothing... But it's probably 5 BUSINESS days, and today is a holiday since July 4th falls on a Saturday.... Marketing is closed, no one is working and if this is truly a manual process requiring a human, I don't expect anything done until Monday or Tuesday.

Hi Evermore, I called Ford Help line (5:30 am PST) and spoke with Andrew @ Mach E marketing. He provided me a CASE # and told me to wait for 5 business day (7/3 is a holiday). I also let the new dealer Encinitas Ford know as they respond to me question right away, unlike the original dealer Kearny Mesa Ford which may had reading or hearing disability. Let’s hope the online reservation will be updated on coming Tuesday.

I'm starting to think they're changing all of these at one time. I called last Thursday, so I'm past the five business days now and no change to my reservation. It sure would've been nice if they would've just let us make adjustments to the dealerships chosen online. In the meantime, I suppose I have no choice but continue to wait. :(

Apparently Ford HQ didn’t get their dealerships ‘good’ reputations among the general public

It's possible the process didn't even initiate until 6/30. That has been reported elsewhere on this thread even though they took your request earlier than that. So if the five business days started on 6/30 and does not include 7/3 because of the Federal holiday, it may mean we will all see updates next Monday/Tuesday. Certainly hope so!

I called Monday and checked yesterday. 5 days doesn’t include Monday so, tues through Thursday is 3 days , Friday is a holiday so the call back should be Tuesday. She said it could be sooner but I am not holding my breath.

I just called Ford helpline again (put in request Monday for dealer change but played dumb that I was unaware it could take 5 days). Lucked out with seemingly fairly knowledgeable rep - she explained the 5 day turnaround is to get "approval" from Ford Motor. Has nothing to do with the dealer (they do not need to approve the reservation - only, eventually, the order) but it is not something Marketing, which runs the helpline, has authority to do. In fact, they aren't really even guaranteeing it will be done in 5 days, just that they will call back in 5 days to see if it has been done or will escalate. So that sounds to me to confirm the theory they really hadn't prepared for this and they just constructed a work-around. They may be having a rush of requests right now to change dealers which i taking longer to process. That's a bit annoying although I suppose really no difference in the end - we still will get orders in well before production starts and our place in line will be held. I saw a post somewhere on another forum thread from someone who had the dealer change made in 1 day. I'm on 3 days - no movement yet.
I also requested to change away from my initial dealer— who doesn’t even appear to be EV certified anymore. I get that it takes five days or so, but you imply that we get to keep our place in line? Does this mean that reservations are still ahead of those placing new orders?

Yes. You will keep your place in line before new reservations going in now.

As long as you convert to an order before production starts, at least through the end of July, your place in line is held. Might get a little murkier once they begin to sequence production although I think your reservation would still give you priority over any orders not already in a production sequence.

Just called to change my dealer this AM. Very easy process, though they are still quoting a 5 business day turn around. Has anyone who called last week (or earlier) had the dealership change go thru yet?

I called and changed mine on Monday last week (29th). I rang again today and was told something VERY different from what everyone has been saying here and from what I recall being told first time around.

First off, the 5 day turnaround is not an SLA. It's not even a lead time before they follow up with IT. It's a follow up time for the customer - meaning after five days (didn't confirm biz days or not) they would follow up with me to tell me anything from:
A) It's changed over - go order
B) It's not changed yet, keep waiting
C) Something else

I didn't get a call or email after 5 days but that was because I called on Wednesday to follow up with them so now my 5 day clock was restarted, meaning they won't check in again till 5 days after that. And guess what? because I called today, it means my clock restarts. That's not to say getting in touch makes it take longer, just that 5 days IS NOT how long you have to wait till it changes over.
They couldn't tell me what the delay was. I asked if they would follow up with IT and if they follow up with them after 5 days, she said no, they've been given no timeline by IT but she would bring it up to her supervisor.

I have basically the same timing as Joel and also just talked to the Mach-E help line. I got a slightly different answer. On June 29 when I made the request I was told it would be completed by the end of the week but, if not, by 7/6 (today). I called on July 2 and was told that it would be completed that day or by July 3. I called today and was told it should be completed today or, at worst, tomorrow. I then asked if she was aware of any of these dealer switch requests having been completed. Her answer was "No. We have asked upper management to update us on the process so that we can more accurately inform customers." She then said that I should receive a follow-up call later today. It is pretty hard to understand why Ford did not have a system in place to manage what should have been anticipated requests. If their system is broken, they could tell us they don't know when this will be resolved.

Good points. I should have clarified that the 5 working day time-line was for a follow up, not a commitment to complete the change. Let's hope this is just some early teething pains and the IT department is focusing on resolving other more pressing issues, like helping dealers navigate the system and making sure deposits are being processed properly. In the grand scheme of things dealer changes probably do not affect a large percentage of the reservations.

Will be nice to see someone have success getting the dealer change to go through soon, though. Proof of concept, if nothing else.
