I remember another thread noting that this is in the last OTA for the car. It may not show until that is done.
Oh, yes. I should point out, I had the OTA and got it working on the previous app version.

Many people may not see it because they are waiting for the OTA, but in my case it was there, working well, and now is not there.

I do have a schedule set for it but I was too lazy to check to see if it ran last night. If it's still missing tonight, I'll try to see if I get notifications even if the settings don't show on the app

My car was built on 6/26 so I am assuming it has the updates that came with the Power Up. My recollection is that SecuriAlert just showed up for people, right? No setup required. I haven't taken the car to my house yet. Maybe things will change once I get it connected to wifi and plugged in. ?‍♀

Yes. It showed up on its own.

Yup, it just shows up under the vehicle tab of FordPass (nothing in the car itself).

As far as if it will be included with the later build, that is still unknown. My guess is probably no. Not sure when then load the software versions at the factory.

Unfortunately, thats how it works. If it didn't try all the time, it wouldn't work like a fob. If you disable that, PAAK will only work if you unlock your phone and open the app. This is what also causes the battery drain.

I get that but the 'Cancel' button should actually cancel it.
Location should be used to determine when to attempt a connection. I was in CA this week with my car parked at the airport in PHX and it still was constantly trying to connect.

It should only keep trying when I am walking, moving around. If my phone sit still and it couldn't connect, chances are I am not near my car, and I don't need to drain my battery. Same if I am playing a mobile game; I am NOT going to be driving right this minute.

I just Hid that notification completely on my device, and force close the app if I know i'm not going to be driving for a while.

Hopefully over time they will optimize this more, but at the same time, it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't change much.

I do think offloading the bluetooth management from the app, to the phone would help quite a bit though.

Running location service for the app all the time will also cause a battery drain...

Running body sensors 100% of the time for an app will also cause battery drain.

The battery drain has been reduced for me quite a bit. I think because I run battery optimization. Also, the battery drain seens worse when I am nowhere near the car.... so if I am home and the car is in the garage it seems like it drains less then if I am away from the car (like at work).

I think they could benefit if they made an easy option to turn on/off PAAK, or even a schedule like they have for other features.. Say, from 10pm-6am, it just turns off every time.. (user set of course).

If you run battery optimization, that puts the app to sleep, which definitely helps with battery. But makes PAAK not as reliable. It's a tradeoff.

Agree, the drain is much less than before. But still higher than what it was back in March when I got the car. PaaK has been very unreliable for the past few days and fairly reliable before that. Who knows. I have not had the PaaK update on the car, waiting for the OTA.
