Apologies if this in the wrong place, but I just had my first dealer experience and test drive. Loved the car obviously, but this will be my first major car purchase so a little hesitant. Would love some feedback.

What are the terms of the Options? Years and Miles? What was is the interest rate? Total purchase price?

If you're looking for confirmation on the list price and finance terms, try building that trim on Ford's website. When you build it, select the MSRP/Calculator icon and you can get to the financing options, including Options.

You can also try using this spreadsheet:
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/poll-ford-options-vs-finance.2883/post-92089

Rate for Options should be 2.25%, not 2.5%.

Did the options rebate go away?

I don’t see it on the Ford partner site any longer?

I'm not positive but I'd guess that's a website glitch. It's disappeared in the past only to show back in a few days.

On ford.com it still shows the $2500 rebate when you Build & Price with program listed through 9/30.

Is it AWD?

49,695 for a red select w/ tech is too high. Need the window sticker. Any ADM?

make sure they are giving you the 2500 Options rebate.

Is that All Wheel Drive or rear wheel drive? For All wheel drive it sounds about right, but the sale price is $2700 too high if rear wheel drive

Are you leasing the car? If you are leasing the EV, the tax credit goes to the manufacturer that's offering the lease, not you.

The Ford options is not a lease, but has aspects of a lease such as a guaranteed buyout value at the end and a mileage limit. However, the car is titled in the owners name not leasing company, so owner can get the tax credit. Tons of information about it on here; search "ford options"

I just purchased a Mach E select, AWD, with tech package, silver in NJ a few weeks ago.

1. Dealer posted price: That is the lowest you will find for tech package + red and AWD. Many Mach e’s in NJ are being sold above MSRP- all the dealers around me were $5,000 over MSRP due to the demand of the mach e and shortage of cars. I ended up driving 4 hrs round trip to buy one that didn't have a dealer mark up.

2. 10,500 miles- ask for a discount for the millage. Mine had 450 miles and I asked what they could take off the price, they said $450. The next day when I went to test drive and pick up the car. The car salesman said that I was lucky to get the $450 off, they usually don’t take any money off the price of the car until the miles are 3,500 – 5,000. You are definitely over that amount so ask what they can take off the car for the miles.

3. $5,000 down, $602 per month for 36 months, 10,500 miles. – Just be aware that there will be some additional fees they you may have to factor into your loan amount. The federal $7,500 doesn’t immediately come off the car. You will instead get $7,500 back when you do your taxes (as long as you paid at least $7,500 in taxes this year). So make sure to factor that into the amount you are financing. Delivery- $1,100 – non negotiable. Doc fee- should be around $300. (Mine was $389)- If higher, negotiate it down. NJ new car 4 year registration fee- $94.50- non negotiable. Without telling my financing specifics, I put greater than $5,000 down, opted for a 60 month loan and my monthly payments are above $600- and as mentioned my car has very similar specs to the one you are looking at.

4. Interest rate: 2.50% - Right now the manufacturer – Ford, has even better interest rates than the one you have. I ended up financing through Ford because of their competitive interest rates.

  • 0.9% APR for 24 months
  • 0.9% APR for 36 months
  • 0.9% APR for 39 months
  • 0.9% APR for 42 months
  • 0.9% APR for 48 months
  • 1.9% APR for 60 months
  • 3.9% APR for 72 months
Interest rates good til 9/30/21

https://www.blaisealexander.com/glo...V-Offers-US2021FRD95a0ab56b3e2fd3c50e9697.htm

5. I also got an extra $100 off the price of my mach e- I believe it is an incentive that Ford is offering on all their mach e’s – Check about that

6. Since the car MSRP is over $45k the greatest NJ instant incentive you will get off is $2,000. Also, if you purchase and register the car in NJ there is no sales tax on the vehicle since it’s electric. So make sure that you get that off as well.

Long story short

If this is the car you want with all the specifics you want definitely purchase it!! The MSRP is the lowest you will find in NJ with the color and package you want. Just check if you can get money off the price of the car for the mileage, get the Ford financing at the lower interest rate, get the manufacture’s $100 off the car and make sure there will be no sales tax. I believe NJ has one of the best, if not the best incentives for electric cars.

With the $7,500 federal tax credit, $2,000 NJ incentive, ~$3,500 estimated sales tax savings, and $100 manufacturer discount you’ll be saving ~$13,100 off the price of the car- That’s unheard of off a brand new car, let alone one as nice as this!!

"Delivery" is built into the MSRP. Shouldn't even be part of the discussion.

Doc fee shouldn't be anywhere near $300. If you use Ford's X-Plan, they limit it to $100.

Since the OP is using the Ford's Options Plan, comparing that to a Ford loan isn't really a comparison. For those that can get the $2,500 Ford Options Plan at 2.25%, that's a better deal than taking a loan at 0.9%. For those of us that only get a $1,000 Ford Options Plan rebate, the 0.9% is simple.

There's no reason to put anything down with either, if you have good credit. I put $1,500 down because that's the max my dealer will let me put on a credit card, and I got 2% cashback on it.
