Didn't get a ton of info. Found out that I was number 9 on their list. That's really surprising here in Indiana. They expect to be able to fulfill all of their orders and then receive 3 additional ones at the end. They are planning on selling for the "price set by Ford". So basically they know nothing but it was a fun stop by.

I stopped by my dealer yesterday here in Cedar Rapids, IA. Talked with one of the salesmen and the sales manager. They have three Mach E reservations which is cool. Iowa isn't exactly EV heaven although I've been seeing more and more Model 3's on the road. There is both a Model 3 and Model S in our neighborhood here in Marion, IA.

While it was a pleasant visit I was disappointed in their total lack of knowledge concerning the Mach E or any electric vehicles. Neither had watched either the reveal of the Mach E or Ford's "Making the Mustang Mach-E" () which I think is a great video. I started talking about batteries, range and the tech in the Mach E's, Teslas and other BEVs and their eyes started to roll back into their heads - totally clueless. While I understand that training still needs to be done, I would think they would at least be curious as guys in the car industry and want to get some understanding of what's coming.

Hey 2003MarionSSS,

I live over in Ames. Placed my reservation on 11/18/19 (AWD Premium with the Extended Battery -Star White Metallic Tri-Coat) . When I checked with the dealer (Ames Ford) the following evening, I was the first and only reservation. I assume by now they would have a few more reservations. My salesperson had watched the unveil and at least knew as much as I did about the Mach-E. In the past they have been good to work with, so hope that will be the case with the Mach-E

I hope you have your Mach-E and are enjoying it. I am organizing an EV display at the Ames Eco Fair on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please consider bringing your car to the display. It will be a great opportunity to meet other central Iowa EV owners. It will also give people a chance to see EVs in person.
