Wheel and Tire package installed. A bit contrarian I guess, but I went down to 18's - wanted the cushion and "beefy" tire look. Only $50 for the tirerack partner in my area to come do the install - sure why not! So they brought the wheels to me and did the swap.

I am new to the forum. Waiting for the 2022's to come out and put my order in for a MME GT. I am trying to do the research on wheels since there is no way I can keep the stock wheels on the GT and I am not paying $5K for the GT PE for a those wheels and a 0.3 seconds differential.

The last time I had to think about what "rims" I hoped to buy was when I was 16 and you had a choice between Centerline and Cragar. ;)I will keep the stock tires until l wear them out and then think about other tires. Not wanting to really increase the tire size or buy a set of wheels beyond the $2K to $3K range. Just improve the handling a bit and make it look good.

I do have a question about the reduction in mileage. I see posts that they kept the OEM tire size, changed out the wheels (reduced weight) and the mileage went down by 10%. To me, loosing 26 miles on a 260 mile range is not ideal. Why does the mileage go down with a simple wheel change? Are the wheels more drag? Are the tires more suited for performance (more rolling friction) and reducing the mileage? Education and advise is always welcomed.
They weren't losing 10% by changing the wheels...they were losing 10% by switching to stickier summer tires. The standard tires on the Mach-E optimize the range, not the traction. Softer tire rubber gives you better handling, traction and stopping power, but wears faster and has more rolling resistance. The GTPE's softer summer rubber gives it 10 miles less range than the GT's stiffer all-season rubber.

These wheels caught my eye on TireRack’s website. I am a big fan of the design, reminds me a lot of the GT wheels. Thinking of ordering some, two questions though.
1. What does your mi/kWh efficiency look like for the kind of city-driving commute you do, and if you have done any highway driving with those wheels, what’s that like?
2. What made you go with 245’s and not 255’s?

Finally picked up the Mach E, the dealership put 20x8.5 TSW Sebring wheels on it, with Falken 245/45 R20 tires. I like the way it turned out from a looks stance, but I am sure these are hurting my range slightly with the added weight. Although living in DC and using this car strictly as my city commuter, I am not too worried about it.

So far they have been great, drivability is really smooth and like stock. My current mi/kWh is 3.7 for my trip since purchase. I have driven it about 400 miles since purchase. I mostly drive city in DC, but also drive highway, for instance today I drove around the beltway and its smooth and quiet.

As for tires, this is what the dealer put on the car, I didn't have a choice. I wasn't planning on buying this car as I ordered a Premium but didn't want to wait, so I went up to the dealer I was planning to use and this was on the lot. The fitment on the wheel is great.

Awesome, thanks for the comprehensive response! Really like the look, didn’t realize how much heavier they were than stock though. I may ping you in a few weeks after you’ve done some more driving to see what efficiency is like. I’m not overly concerned with efficiency, I know it’s gonna take a bit either way due to the added friction, but some real world numbers of what to expect is nice.

I had those falken tires on a Passat TDI. They were not particularly impressive in any metric but they were quiet, smooth and got great MPG. They also seemed to wear well for the limited time I had the car.

I actually do very much like your beefy tires look. A bit strange as typically the huge wheels and nearly non-existent sidewall is the preferred look lol. Maybe because the black wheels work well on your red car.

I'm guessing you went from the 19" wheels from the premium trim. Is the ride actually cushier? Any noticeable increase in power consumption going to 235 width tires?

Yeah, I've had good luck with them so far. I even run Pilot Road 4's (now 5's) on my motorcycle.
