Will it be possible to connect the MME to the home wi-fi when parked at home?
Or will all the OTA updates be done via some kind of onboard SIM card?
I would imagine that the main way of getting the OTA updates would be via wifi. Getting them via SIM card (4G) would be costly due to data needed. I have Sync 3 on my current Kuga and can connect it to my home and work wifi to download any updates.

Living on the 12th floor of an appartment complex and working in a building with our company renting the 2nd floor, it will be quite impossible to reach my current wifi-networks...
So I need to go to the McDrive to get wifi? ?

MFT and Sync 3 both have an onboard WiFi client for updates (never used with MFT but used occasionally in Sync 3), so I'd be amazed if the MME doesn't.

Funny enough, this situation might send you back to the Ford dealership to get your update. Around here dealership waiting rooms have wifi you can use while you wait. Maybe you can use some free charging while downloading updates.

Thanks...how many hours will such an update via wifi take, on average base?

The car has a built in cellular modem with 3 years of included service; presumably it will be priced like tesla at $10/mo thereafter.
