Key fobs, no keys as above. My wife's 2020 Ford Raptor has no keys, but it does have key fobs.

What is your backup if your Mach-E battery has died or has a severe electrical problem that shuts it down? Is there any physical means to open the door? My Fusion Hybrid has a cap next to the driver door handle that can be removed, and a real keyhole is revealed. The physical key in the fob can unlock the door.

I had to do this once because the 12 V battery died. After opening the door, one can pull on the hood release, open the hood, and jump start the car on specially marked posts (the actual battery is in the trunk). It is driveable and can be taken to the dealer. My 12 V battery was replaced for free under the factory warranty.

All these steps are printed in the Fusion owner manual, which I always read cover to cover. Next time you see a Ford Fusion, look for the cap on the driver door. I expect the Mach-E to have something similar.

I remember Darren Palmer saying that the doors will have a super capacitor that will allow the doors to open in that scenario. The capacitor will hold a charge even if the event of a complete electrical failure.

The door handle on the inside will work as a mechanical opener if you pull back far enough on it. I don’t remember hearing anything about a mechanical way to open the doors from the outside, only the e-latch.

I can't look it up at the moment but does anyone know what the Lincoln Aviator does? It's similar I think.

I bet they will give you a card or a fob but my guess is a key card. The phone is the main key I would think

God I hope so. I HATE those things. I carry enough keys and stuff in my pocket that buttons get accidentally pushed when I bend over. I finally had crack open the fobs and put tape over the contacts on the panic buttons to disable them.
