This is the list. I don’t find it very helpful since I don’t recognize almost any of the cars named on it. https://www.goodwood.com/grr/event-...speed/2021/7/fos-2021-timed-shootout-results/
Either way, that doesn’t seem like it lines up with performance barely beating an F-150 and V6 Durango to me. It also doesn’t seem like it’s throttling power after only a short initial burst from the launch like many have speculated.
From where it is sitting and as some one familiar with most of the cars on the list as a data point the Ken Clarke - Rover SD1 Vitesse (HEPOLITE) which has a similar time is a 1980's touring car that has circa 340 NA hp, once the turbo era of touring cars started in 1986 is was uncompetitive as those vehicles had circa 560 hp one of which is a Ford and is also on the list sitting up at #11 both vehicles are RWD so no AWD traction advantage.

Of more interest to me is what is sitting in at number #7, will need to do more research on it as if it is running to true WRC spec levels of power and not running unrestricted, then barely beating a V6 Durango seems a fair comparison lol.

However when it comes to the timed runs at goodwood you can never tell if everyone is pushing it, some of the vehicles that run have a lot of history behind them so are somewhat babied up the hill as drivers don't want to damage it going all out, while a lot of the time manufactures showing a new model are taking advantage of the publicity so want to make sure there are plenty of pictures being taken and shared so don't want to go flying past the crowds.

Did a few more loops on my way into work today...

0-60: 3.79 (3.58 1ft) | my new best, preceded and backed up with a few more verified 3.60s & 3.59 pulls. While I still have less than 300mi on my gtpe, much have been dragy rips. Probably have a hundred pulls and after figuring out best launch practices i'm still only just itching at the edge of high 3.5s, all while cutting low 1.9x 60fts. Fords 3.5 claims seem pretty unrealistic for the average joe..

I'm still a bit down on MPH compared to others...
1/8 : Been a pretty consistent 7.85@86-87
1/4 : Only a few good attempts and best so far 12.59 @ 99.90

30-50 from a zero mph pull & no load cruising are about the same : 1.26-1.30s
50-70 from a zero mph pull & no load cruising are also about the same: 1.92-1.98
60-80 is where we begin to deviate:
from a zero mph pull : 2.39-2.5xs (larger window of variation)
from no load cruising : 1.93 ... solid .5sec off the table right there :/

Have some decent data now on the 60-80, 70-90 times from a zero blast. Just need to compile more from no load cruising. I'm also tracking 60-100, 70-100, & 80-100, but haven't seen much highway driving as of late to get good data.

It beat that bottom of the list Mercedes by 30 seconds. I’m sure people with more car knowledge than me will know what some of those other vehicles are.

My apologies for interrupting the salt fest that this thread has turned in to by trying to offer more data in a somewhat comparable situation as the police track test.
I actually do appreciate the other data points. More data is definitely better.

It’s not your fault that the Twitter headline “fastest production car” is completely misleading.

I googled a few more of those cars and every one so far has been a purpose built race car.

And while it’s good that it beat some “race cars,” the ones on the list that it beat don’t seem particularly fast nor powerful.

Example- Tom Andrew - Alfa Romeo 155. It’s a 1994 FWD car that came with 164 hp stock.

Given it looks like this now, so who knows?

Ford Mustang Mach-E My GT Performance Edition (GTPE) first track launch with videos, timeslip! 0-60 in 4.12s, 1/4 mile in 12.657 @ 100.02 mph 46C25CCA-221B-4808-AA8F-1ADF498319CB

What is your best launch method for the best 0-60 time? I'll try to replicate your results.

Found my best results using mild to medium brake torque, leaning more on lighter side to be consistent on the street. More pedal required more brake to hold and after several loops with hard braking the brembos get a bit grippy and find myself lurching slightly at launch, thus tainting the run...

If I were on a nice sticky track surface, the harder i can launch the better im sure but with small windows of time to get set and go on my likely oil soaked high traffic road, lighter is better ;)

WRT Goodwood, a number of the “race cars” no longer meet the rules packages to which they were originally supposed to conform. Case in point, Mike Skinner often brings a NASCAR Truck. It usually has motivation that wouldn’t be legal in any form of racing, underbelly modifications that would not pass tech, super-modified suspension pieces, and all sorts of other stuff done to it.

Once again, the GT is as quick/quicker on a roll at normal speeds as my car that goes 12.2s@115-116 regularly. Obviously it kills me to 60 ?

My 0-60: 4.08(1ft) 4.33
30-50s: 1.5s (1-2 shift)
50-70s: 2.0-2.1s
60-100: 5.1-5.2s (2-3, 3-4shift)
70-100: 4.1-4.2s (3-4 shift)
0-100: 9.3-9.5s
0-110: 11.3-11.5
60-130: 12.2

Being familiar with most of these vehicles the BTCC touring cars of that era on average had just over 300hp, but unlike the turbo era before your show room model didn't come equipped with a detuned race engine :(, rules for engines limited them to a NA 2.0l with up to 6 cylinders and a maximum rpm of 8500 all vehicles where 2wd with most being FWD, so apart from the lighter body weight and race car suspension, so power & torque wise it is way down compared to the GTPE.

Also the alfa 155 is more famous for the controversy over the rear wing as the homologation rules where really there in regards to aero modifications with needing to sell 2500 versions most manufactures just used the existing sportier model trim for homologation and then made the required tweaks allowed within the rules alfa however decided to sell 2500 silverstone special editions and use that for homologation with an adjustable front splitter but also a much larger rear wing however they just left it loose in the trunk / boot just in case an owner wanted to mount it instead of the already mounted standard one, this allowed them to run a much larger rear wing on the race car compared to everyone else ending up in lots of complaints with the resulting tribunals and appeals.

"Give Ford a chance. If this isn’t an anomaly, and, there’s no fix announced relatively quickly"

Are we still within the "relatively quickly" range or are we past that? Who's still hoping that Ford "fixes" this and what sort of fix are you hoping for?

It’s definitely still early.

No official tested reviews.
No response from Ford.

I’m also convinced no one has officially even asked Ford for an official response.

How do you get an official response? Take your car to a dealership and start a warranty claim for performance issues. You are at full throttle and the power bar clearly shows “less than full power.”

Then see how Ford proceeds.

See, to me that means it's clearly by design, and you're obviously not going to have a lot of luck starting a warranty claim for something that's by design.
