I believe the MME allows up to 150Kwh charging speed. And I wonder if this can be improved and increased with OTA update.Loading speed of what? But yes, a lot of improvements can be made with software.
The charging curve is much more important than the peak charging speed, and yes Ford has said they will be improving the charging curve with an OTA update.I believe the MME allows up to 150Kwh charging speed. And I wonder if this can be improved and increased with OTA update.
The max speed is based on EA chargers which are 450A max current (170kW ish max theoretical at 80% SoC).I believe the MME allows up to 150Kwh charging speed. And I wonder if this can be improved and increased with OTA update.
I really, really hope they do this. Seeing how fast the Audis and Taycans charge is crazy. The charging curve is much more important than the peak charging speed, and yes Ford has said they will be improving the charging curve with an OTA update.
Taycan is 800V, not 400V, so there is no way to get to that level. On 400V, 200KW is max charging you can get.I really, really hope they do this. Seeing how fast the Audis and Taycans charge is crazy.
Well it would be nice to get sustained speeds of 200kw while DCFC…Taycan is 800V, not 400V, so there is no way to get to that level. On 400V, 200KW is max charging you can get.
Sounds like the MME's hardware cannot handle the thermal loads for that sort of current.Well it would be nice to get sustained speeds of 200kw while DCFC…
It is actually most likely ethernet - specifically Automotive Ethernet:The Ethernet is just a custom two wire bus. It isn't actually ethernet. There is no info on what its max speed is since it seems to be a Ford standard.
I probably should have phrased what I said differently. I meant it wasn't to be confused with your normal RJ45 ethernet everyone knows. Thanks for the link.It is actually most likely ethernet - specifically Automotive Ethernet:

Have you ever actually run ethernet over coax? It SUUUUUUUUCKED.The earliest versions of ethernet was running on a shared coaxial cable similar to cable TV cable, which is two wires.
Oh god I had forgotten Ethernet cards with BNC connectors on them. ?Have you ever actually run ethernet over coax? It SUUUUUUUUCKED.
Don't miss that at all!
