Remember the Lucid will have an initial price well north of $100,000. They better have some pretty terrific numbers at that price point. ;)

Range is now officially 517 miles, with the starting price at $60K. (the story doesn't say the cost for that range)

Independent testing confirms the Lucid Air has a range of 517 miles https://arstechnica.com/?p=1698132

The article mentions "900" volt battery pack. Is this correct or an error and should had stated 800 volt?

I missed that! Yeah, it's probably a typo for "800."

I believe the starting price mentioned previously (of $60K) was for the earlier announced version with range of 240 miles. Since then they have more than doubled that range, and I doubt the price will stay the same at these specs. I'm counting north of $100k easily. In anywise, it's fantastic news and a welcome addition to the growing EV family. I believe the Air will be the closest competitor to the upcoming EQS from Mercedes which seem to attract similar kind of customers.
I don't think Tesla model S will come anywhere close to the ambience and interior quality of the Lucid Air or EQS. They are more oriented on Performance, affordability, ease of manufacture, etc adding to the detriment of interior material quality and aesthetics.

The source for 900V is Peter Rawlinson, the Lucid CEO and CTO.

In the interview with the US electric mobility news site Electrek, Rawlinson said: “Tesla is a 400-volt. Porsche is introducing an 800-volt system. We are going with an over 900-volt system.”

Wow, 900volt system. Smaller and lighter battery pack. Improved transmission to improve the entire system. Great news but at a cost(?) that many of us can't handle. Rapid evolutionally EV development continues.

I don’t see battery voltage having any impact on battery size (it’s likely not the voltage of one cell, it has to do with how they’re arranged). But it should improve efficiency as current decreases for a given power output.
