It is not confirmed yet but it seems silly to me to offer 2021 MME GTs for 3-4 months at most before switching them to 2022 MY.
Why Is Ford holding on to those MY updates, the differences will be small in the begin.

But at least initially that’s what Ford said would be the case, and I haven’t seen otherwise yet. Ford has indicated that the late summer batch of GTs is part of the 50K of MY2021 MMEs.

In fact, we don’t know that they will be delivering GTs 3-4 months after that. If they continue with limited production for 2022, I assume they will again manufacture in batches with the non-GTs first and then GTs at the end of production. So, it may be there’s no batch of MY2022 GTs until spring or summer of 2022.

Contacted by my dealer today to give update. Order submitted to plant and accepted. Has VIN number but would not give it out until sure and was not in front of the paperwork (returned his call)? Now saying November; you guys have a better handle on that but progress and info.

geeze, that line of ME's looks like a Covid drive through testing line.

So is it confirmed that the GT will be a '22 model year then? Late summer delivery sounds like a '22.
No. In fact Ford has made it clear on a number of occasions that the first GTs are 2021 Model Year.

If there are already 80,000 confirmed orders without the GT's having been opened up yet, the manufacturing for current orders is going to extend into 2022 anyway. Add in the GT's and you're looking at late winter in 2022.

My guess is that 80k number wasn't all confirmed orders. In fact he already said most Europe ones are really just placeholders since most countries can't even order yet. I'm guessing the GTs are the same (in that 80k as placeholders).

Remember, everything people are saying is pure speculation.

There is some inside information from @trutolife27 but even some of that information is incomplete and not definitive.

Take everything you hear from dealers, this forum, and news sources with a grain of salt unless it comes direct from Ford. All of those sources of information have had proven innacuracies in the past.

Completely agree!! If someone was to say something outlandish like Ford is going to reduce the MSRP of the Mach-E you should not believe that until the website is updated or a press release is sent out.

I hope so @dbsb3233, or they have a huge mess in the making. Sort of like when I decide to make a big batch of fried rice and discover the huge pot isn't huge enough. :p

The only genuinely confirmed EU orders are the leases IIRC. The UK and those buying anywhere in the EU haven't had the chance yet. With any luck they've looked at the rez conversion rate and upped that to arrive at EU and GT estimates. I suspect the rez conversion rate was significantly higher than their initial forecast.

This still leaves them short on batteries (from their previous releases that 50K was due to battery supply) and even at 1300 per week from the start of customer car production, it's almost 62 weeks of nonstop production to produce 80,000 cars. Add in the various factory holidays and downtimes and the current orders won't get filled order until calendar year 2022.
