I don’t road trip enough to need either $4/month or $50/year. That might change in the future, but my current pattern is pretty much drive to work, drive home. Once in a while, drive to the grocery store. Once in a while, drive to a dog show. Once in a while, drive to bust some clays. For the time being, filling the BBQ requires the Blazer. I love getting 10 in town and 15 on the highway. ??‍♂?
A normal BBQ tank fits nicely in the frunk.

I'm guessing the minor premium in price is because of Plug & Charge, which you won't get opening an EA account separately. If so, that might be worth the $2 per year for some.
Yep. And no phone hassles. And no concern about a bad cell zone. Those are the things that converted me from just using the EA app to wanting this to finally be implemented. While the EA app often works cleanly on the first attempt, it doesn't a lot of times too. I've done roughly 50 EA charges in the last year and I've seen a wide variety of success and annoyance, often at the same same EA stations. And once it fails on the first attempt, it often cascades. If the first charger has an issue, it tends to hang the EA app on "Starting", and I've gotta reboot the phone to clear it before trying a different charger. That gets old fast.

To me, it's worth the $50/yr to simplify it all with P&C. The question will be what it will cost in 2023 after our free 2 years of Blue Oval Charging Network access expires. Still not sure what we lose at that point, and what it will cost to get it back. But we'll cross that bridge then.

Where I live there is a small company that delivers a full tank in exchange for an empty for $24.99 plus tax. Can't beat the convenience.
Way, way cheaper to get your tank refilled at Costco. Assuming you have a membership.

The benefit of EA's Pass+ is flexibility. Going on a trip TODAY? Upgrade when you leave. Takes affect immediately. Then, downgrade. Takes effect in 30 days.

We used it end of August, and canceled. A day after period ended, had a funeral many states away. Activated, then canceled. So we have paid $8 over 4.5 months. Not going to switch to $50 a year for Plug and Charge, UNLESS it turns out to be more successful at one try and done. But we haven't seen a difference in the pass vs activate on EA app, then plug in.
I thought I had read somewhere that when you sign up for EA + it’s effective the 1st of the next month but I guess I read that wrong

I need to cancel my EA membership. They are charging me $4 a month and I still have a lot of free charging remaining.

I am not so sure that the EA app differentiates cars by VIN. I have 2 years free charging with the Polestar 2 plan, and it has been working on my Mach E as well....shhhhh
McFly, it is the Ford charging network that utilizes the VIN, not EA. EA just charges based on your account.
