So I've been refunded the total of 1 charging session so far. Not sure if they intend to refund all the charging i did until this gets fixed, or if they will attempt to figure out what 25% off would be and refund that.

At least there is movement.

I wouldn't call that a 'special offer', @Ford Motor Company That's actually $2 a year more than a normal EA+ membership costs and is a tiny bit LESS of a discount. In my area its $0.43/kWh for non-members and $0.31 for Pass+ members. With a 25% discount it's $0.32.
Only difference is there's a fee for paying in advance and you can't cancel. With normal EA membership you can just stop anytime.

And if we're being honest, I don't find it to be too much of a hassle to tap my phone to the machine
Volkswagen gives 2 years free charging . When Ibought the mache , I was under the impression ford did the same thing but was disappointed to learn that’s not the case .

Do you know why? Volkswagen's diesel scandal screwing customers...

Keep in mind you only need the free charging if you are traveling outside your local area. That is, of course, assuming you can charge at home. I have no need for chargers in my home town because my MME is always charged and ready to go. I still have quite a bit of the free Ford charging remaining, and it very well could last two years at the rate I am going.

Ran out of my 500 bundle last night. Had difficulty turning off Plug & Charge in FordPass, it would keep spinning and always came back to shoe Plug & Charge still enabled. Was in a hurry to get back on the road and just left it as is and payed the full $0.43/kWh rate. Before going to bed last night I tried again and this time I was able to turn it off. Today I used the EA app to initiate a charging session for the first time, the discount already made up for the $4 membership cost for the month. I get it that using P&C is more straightforward, but as someone who obsessively looks at data during each charging session (HVB temperature, DCFC power limit and actual power requested, energy to empty, etc), opening the EA app and tapping does not bother me at all.

The receipt for the charging session claimed the maximum charging speed was 175kW, for a 150kW charger. The DCFC power limit set by my MME peaked at 161 kW after the HVB had warmed up and the highest actual charging rate was only 112kW.

By the way, the option to sign up for the BlueOval Chargr Network Upgrade showed up for me as soon as I ran out of the 500kWh allowance.

The data EA sends, as you saw, is faulty.

Oh interesting, I saw someone else posted they had credits left but it still showed up. I bet the way it showed up for you is how it is intended. Doesn’t really make sense to have it available if you’ve still got credits.

The one piece that doesn’t currently work this way is Plug & Charge.
This is literally the only reason to buy the membership through Ford. I regularly travel for work and charge at EA stations. I immediately got the Ford EA Membership because being able to use Plug&Charge is really nice compared to having to use my phone to activate.

Come on Ford!

I think he just means it doesn’t work with multiple vehicles with Plug and charge, it still works with just one VIN.

So I haven't gone out since Tuesday so I'm not sure if it "works" yet. But for fun, I just went into the app and found an EA charger. If you go to the activate screen, it does show the discounted rate.

Next week I'll try to see if:

1. P&C works with the discount yet
2. If not, if it will work when I activate via app.

If 2 works, it still doesn't meet my expectations because I like using P&C

Correct.

You can use the BOCN to charge any EV using the app.
You can use the BOCN to Plug & Charge one Mustang Mach E using the app.
Hopefully, you will soon be able to use the BOCN to Plug & Charge more than one Ford BEV using the app.
Who knows, maybe Ford will even open it up to other brand vehicles (a guy can alway hope).

I have it on good authority, they will let you use it for any Mercury brand vehicles...

I just bought the $4 membership from EA ahead of a long trip this weekend. Do I have to disable P&C in the car? Or can I just swipe the phone before I plug?
This is crazy. P&C should be easier not some labyrinth of read tape! It benefits the charging companies and Ford if is easier for the customers. Get your acts together @Ford Motor Company and #ElecifyAmerica (note they aren't on here)!
