It has been a while since I heard any "not a Mustang" remarks. In fact, I was recently approached by someone who said he has owned two Mustangs in his life and wanted to know how I liked this one. He was interested in buying one but thought it was still a little too hard to get. I also had a Mustang flash it's lights at me in the oncoming lane and the driver gave me the thumbs-up! So perhaps we have won them over??

Based on my interactions, I think the GTPE won them over.

I get lots of “wow that looks great! I don’t like the regular one” comments.

Same goes with when they see how quick it is.

I have never had another mustang owner tell me, "It'S not A mUsTaNg, blah blah blah" it's always been people that have never owned one, so I never thought their comments mattered. All of the Mustang owners I had interacted with, seemed to either really like it or were excitedly curious about it, never hate or grumpy feelings.

Two different in-laws, one of whom has owned multiple ICE Mustangs, commented that, "it's not a Mustang," and I said, "Fine, you can't have a ride in it, then."

Response is “you’re right, it’s quicker” or “yes, it’s a Mustang Mach-E” or “you make the payments and you can call it whatever you want”

Anytime Ford posts anything about the MME on Twitter there are loads of “not a Mustang” or “not my Mustang”. I think the car has won over real car people. These “not my Mustang” people are not real enthusiasts. If they were they would appreciate the car for the car. At this point if you hate a car because the Marketing department decided this was the best way to sell, it then don’t buy it.

Picked up my car yesterday. Drove my lovely lady to the bank today in it and a guy pulls up next to me in the parking lot and asks me to roll my window down. I live in NYC where nobody talks to anybody else for pretty much any reason. He fucking loses it about seeing a Mustang SUV. He had no clue about this car. He then points to the charge door on the fender and asks "what's that". His brain exploded when I said the car was electric.

The big part of all of this is he kept calling the car a Mustang and I kept referring to it as The MachE. That's when I realized I need to get out of the internet echo-bubble of youtube comments and stuff like that.

At the end of the convo he says he had a Mustang back in the day and loves the one I got. I told him that's funny because some people hate it and say its not a real Mustang. He looks at me and goes "Those people are always going to find something to hate"

Yes...the not a mustang trolls have disappeared along with the Tesla owner trolls. Maybe it's because our trap speeds are so low that we're no longer relevant? ?

Perhaps the main reason is that we, the owners, are finding plenty about the car to complain about and our voices are now louder than theirs? ?

There's still a long list of issues that Ford needs to fix.

I've gone for quite awhile not noticing any further car attention, until very recently.

Sitting outside a Chipotle within earshot of my car, I see a guy walk around it and say, "Oh, it's BLUE." (It's Infinite Blue and it was dusk, I can understand his confusion.)

Same night, I stopped at the grocery store and as I walked back to my car, a couple of ladies were ogling it, "It's a Mustang! Oh my, yes it is you're right! It looks so interesting." Then they spotted me and I confirmed, yes, it is a Mustang and it is *electric*. Minds blown.

Anyway, nothing major but, thought I'd chip in right after @Electric Goat's "hater" post. :)

I have. There are a lot of tourists here, even during the pandemic. Last summer I had the car at a shopping area associated with some high end destination resorts following a meeting for an Ironman branded triathlon. A tourist comes up to me and starts ranting about the car. He was getting angrier and angrier cause he owns a Mustang (so he said any way). I finally asked , “You’re here on vacation right?” He nodded and said yes. I answered, “Then relax dude and chill out.” Got in the car (which is what I was trying to do anyway) and drove off. I have to admit it was a different tourist encounter than normal. Most of those involve a loudly complaining tourist in a grocery store complaining how prices are higher than in Omaha (they are and by a lot) and how “they” are gouging us (no, “they” aren’t).

Literally the only negative comment I’ve heard in almost a year of ownership.

As for the negative forum members, they’ve mostly moved on or given up with the “Not A Mach-E” crusade.

I've only had one negative comment on mine in a year of ownership, and I almost always have comments/staring/etc in parking lots and all.

Was walking back to the car in a parking lot and lady kept looking at the rear and when she saw me walking to it... conversation was:
Lady: "Is this new?"
Me: "Yes 'mam, it's a 2021 Mustang Mach-E."
Lady: "I didn't realize they made a 4-door."
Me: "Yea, it's fully electric."
Lady: "I don't like it, doesn't look like a Mustang."
Me: "Ok - have a great day!"

All other interactions have been positive and most folks are very interested. I've seen so many folks taking pictures and videos, most worrisome is when they're driving down the road doing so!

Yeah, I don't care. I traded in my Mustang for this one, so I have a good point of comparison between what a "real" Mustang is and my current one.

I felt immediately at home when I got behind the wheel and started driving it.

We’ll, maybe not just yet. I didn’t see it happen but I got out of my car yesterday and noticed someone had spit on it while I was driving. I promptly took it to a touchless car wash and gave it a quick bath. ?
