True in general, although I'd give their estimates a little more credence than that. They're using Ford's own estimates for range and battery capacity, which are likely to be pretty close. And are applying typical BEV high speed adjustments, which are likely to be pretty close too.

1. Companies "self-certify". Run the tests, send the results to EPA.
2. EPA can elect to audit anyone's vehicle and test results, i.e. take the same test vehicle the company used to get its test results, and run it themselves to make sure they are not pulling a "VW diesel". You're gonna have to trust Ford on this one, since the EPA Ann Arbor lab is still basically "COVID closed".
3. I anticipate you will be completely unsurprised by the final EPA range numbers.

I am from Norway. Norway orders are open now. Ford says beginning of 2021. I just ordered my FE in Grabber Blue.?
I am pleased for you in Norway that you are able now to place actual orders. It would appear Ford Norway were true to their word about the 17th.
Would it be possible for you to expand slightly on the order process.
How were you notified that orders were open.
Was it though the dealer and what was required regarding deposit, was the reservation deposit rolled over. Did you visit the dealer. Was there information regarding finance, rates etc. Did you get any additional Information material about the car. Did you get and order number and did it relate in any way to your reservation number. Thanks

That's my expectation too. If EPA comes in more than, say, 5-6% different than Ford's estimates, I'll be quite surprised.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford was a little conservative on the numbers as it will be better to over-deliver (free press!) than to fall short of customer expectations. ie: Aim for 316 (5% margin) but advertise 300. They have already updated a few numbers (all improvements).

I will be more surprised if it's 1% lower than 10% more.

Bummer. I was hoping they beat the target by at least 8%; I was anticipating 250 on the SR RWD Select to put it on par with M3 SR+

At this point I don't think they can make the numbers any better just because they want to match a competitor. The EPA number will be what the data shows it to be.

However, I am half-expecting range to improve a little with an OTA update next year sometime to unlock more of the battery and reduce that 11% reserve to maybe 7-8%, if real world battery temp data collection looks good.

Entire process was Digital and I did all from home. We have to go to Ford account and sign and agree digitally.we have individual digital solution that we all use in Norway and we used the same to verify and authenticate our identity to sign the document.once I signed and agreed document it was sent to dealer digitally via ford account and I got dealer accepted version after a while in my email. Deposit is shown as amount to be deducted in final amount. My final price is showing as NOK 602900. There is ford credit option with starting interest rate of 1.99% as a campaign now. They will contact us end of October or November to finalize the finance.

The efficiency numbers shown on the ford.no builder are puzzling.

On the RWD, the standard battery range is 10 km lower than originally estimated in November, while the RWD long range battery provides 10 more km than originally expected. For the AWD, the standard battery loses 20 km range from what was anticipated, while the long range battery remains as predicted.

The RWD SR vehicle consumes more kWh per 100 km travelled (WLTP) than the heavier long range battery vehicle? How can that be right? The same sort of difference is shown for AWD SR versus AWD ER.

Am I reading this wrong?
