Hello All,
Just have a general question about the timeline and if others are experiencing the same scenario.

I submitted my order on 10/27/2021 and Ford confirmed the order on 11/19/2021

I have not received any other communication from Ford on the status or a schedule.

Is this what others have experienced? I did ask the dealer and they seem to be in the dark as much as I am…

Did you place an order for a premium or CR1? Those are both high demand vehicles and production for those is strung out further than others.

Sxheduling for production is next. When that happens you should get an email update and shortly thereafter your dealer should be able to get you your VIN.

Isn’t waiting fun?

I cannot speak for everyone, but my experience was that Ford confirmed my reservation. There was a deafening silence after that. I learned the date that I could order my car based on my reservation off of this forum. The dealer confirmed my order placement, but nothing from Ford Corporate until I got the “Chip Hold” email (yup, I was not given a email indicating my production week - I had to continually look at various Ford web sites to learn that). ??

My dealer was treated like a mushroom. They had no information on my order status after confirming my order until after the car had shipped. Ford Corporate does a really bad job of communicating with their customers (the dealers) and their end-users. ???

102 days and counting. CA Route 1 ordered on 12/3/21. If you ordered online and paid the deposit, you should have gotten a conformation from Ford by email.

Heh, I got a phone call from my dealer stating that they accepted my order and my CC was charged 10 minutes after I placed my order online. Radio silence from Ford Corporate. ???

I'm in a similar situation as you. I ordered a Premium SR RWD on 11/12/21. Went to the dealer the next day and placed the order with the dealership. My original online order was "cancelled" sometime on 11/30/21. It wasn't really cancelled, the Ford systems are just weird. I have called my dealer and Ford support every 2-3 weeks over the last two months and they haven't been able to give me an update.

Yep. Order in 10/1, accepted by dealer 10/4, Premium AWD extended range (unfortunate choice - seems to be the most popular, and thus faces the greatest delays). Mostly nothing since then. Dealer said he expected it to be here in 4-5 months, but I knew from this forum that wasn't even overly optimistic: it was unrealistic. Now we're about six months in, still not scheduled for production. I expected about nine months, and am revising my estimate to be closer to one year.

It seems like the vast majority of people get their vehicle within one year (although you can find a few outliers who are waiting over a year), so I do expect to get it some time before October of this year. That said, the current war situation with Russia and Ukraine may cause supply chain issues to worsen even further, hitting both semiconductors (again - Ukraine supposedly supplies about 50% of the world's neon, which is used in chip lithography) and battery production (apparently Ukraine supplies a decent amount of nickel?). So... who knows.

If you don't already know, it seems Ford does most of their scheduling on Thursdays, so if checking the Ford website for your order status is driving you crazy, consider checking on a Thursday or after. Some people do get scheduled on other days, but that seems to be rare. And of course, the production dates can shift...

I ordered on 12/19/2021 and my vehicle is scheduled for production this week. It took about 5 or 6 weeks before I received any communication from Ford after the initial confirmation. My vehicle seems to be moving along faster than what many others are experiencing. I ordered a premium extended battery RWD. I do live in an EV friendly state (Oregon) and some believe those states get higher priority, but I don't know if that is true. I suspect it's based more on the specific model and options you choose. You should be able to log into your account on the Ford website and confirm that Ford has accepted the order from dealership. If so, then you just have to keep waiting.

Nice to hear of a build date for one of the discontinued trims. Gives me hope mine might be scheduled sometime soon. Or at least sometime. Contratulations!

I ordered a R1 12/6/21, direct from the dealership. They can pull my order up on their computers but Ford.com shows no orders for me. Interestingly, I do the "check local inventory" dance from time to time and have yet to see a R1 on any dealer lot within 500 miles of my location, so I guess it's a rare build in my neck of the woods. I do see Premiums, Selects and GTs but when I call the dealership about a test drive they're all spoken for, or still on order even though Ford.com says they're available.

You should expect zero useful info from Ford and dealer insight is highly variable based on … competency. Ford clearly is having supply issues cause a wide variety production delays.. well unless it’s a GT. GOM for a November order.. production in July .. delivered in August.

I placed my order for a Premium 4X right around the same time as you. I have had zero movement since then. I agree that getting a car within a year is realistic. I was hoping to have mine for the summer but I’m not very hopeful.

I ordered my Premium AWD Extended range 10/30. About 5-6 weeks later my salesman notified me of my VIN and build week of 1/31. Got bumped to the week of 2/14. The vehicle was built and was shipped sometime around 2/25. Now I’m just waiting for the ETA of 3/30-04/05.

I ordered my car in June last year. The next time I heard from ford was in October when they switch it from 21 to a 22. Then in Nov when I got a build date. Then finally January saw some real action. Picked up the far Feb 22.

There are a lot of variables, and many we don't even know about. One that is strongly suspected and that we end-customers will likely never know about is dealer allocation. Some dealers are slotted to be able to receive more cars from Ford than others, and we collectively get the sense that the dealer is allowed to order a certain number of Mach-E's for themselves, and a certain number of Mach-E's in total. I occasionally browse the local inventory and the dealership I chose hasn't had a Mach-E in stock for a while, whereas two others (I suspect less popular) do. Neither Ford nor your dealer will share that information with you, though, which stinks... obviously, if you knew one dealer had zero allocation left for a set time period, you'd probably go with another who did have some.

Just a correction, those trims aren't discontinued, they're just "sold out." Granted things may change, but when the 2023 orders come up it's expected we'll see a return of the ability to order Premium and California Route 1 trims. Someone on here reported their dealer expected those trims to become available to order again as soon as this summer, but who knows...
