Key fob trunk release

So I have the select I just picked it up last week we are still getting to know each other and I've found lots of silly quirks but one of them has just been eating at me. On my key fob there is a button for the back lift gate. okay that's cool but I have a select so I don't have a powered back liftgate why can't the button open the front trunk! That needs to be remappable because a button for the hatchback is completely useless when it's not powered you literally still have to touch where the latch is to lift the door up. I know you can open the front via the app but the app is slow and clunky. Okay rant over, enjoy your evening!

The frunk is not powered on any of the models. So when they add the feature to unlock it, you will still need to lift it manually.

I know it's not powered. But it's very inconvenient to open the door and pull the latch twice if they could just use the useless button on the remote to trigger the unlock of the hood

I'm new here has that been a complaint before? I'm not really complaining didn't use the front trunk that often in my last EV. I just mainly thought it was silly to have that wasted button on my remote.

Yup. Access to the frunk has been discussed ad nauseum for over a year. There are still thousands of us that don’t have electronic opening of the frunk at all, but I don’t want to give @Jimrpa an aneurism, so we won’t talk about that. Of course the blank space on the fob could have a frunk button, but it doesn’t here. It does in some parts of Europe.

You can‘t. They use different frequencies in Europe. We’ve been at this for a while.

It’s a hideous name for something that doesn’t really work anyway

I’m going to upgrade mine by calling it the boot. Very James Bond.

I may even start an all new thread about what’s wrong with my boot
